So I’ve been pretty casual since the end of Warlords from general burn out etc, so I’ve been getting into all other facets of WoW like gold making, legacy dungeon/raid runs, roleplay, rep grinding, achievement hunting, you name it I’ve probably tried it.
I genuinely love this game and I’ve often found it’s the little things that just stake you in the side when you’re having fun, and my most recent stake that’s been really hurting the vibe has been Mind control mechanics (McM), I often wonder why there isn’t a safe guard in place to prevent these mechanics from going off like a level check to see if you’re over leveled.
I’ve been enjoying gearing up multiple characters to see what class is able to do certain pieces of content but so far the primary brick wall has been Uldir, specifically Mythrax who has by far the WORST McM, there’s no counter play, there’s no warning, nothing, I wouldn’t mind orbs that fly around the room that you have to dodge in order to prevent being mind controlled, but no it’s just a flat status effect.
It’s a bad sign when you’re able to solo N’zoth but not a boss who was released as a first raid of an expansion, I had fun in normal mode Eternal Palace on my arcane mage trying to down The Queen’s Court, I would have to time and save certain cooldowns to prevent mind control and have enough movement abilities to separate each boss so I could do enough damage to finally end both of them at the same time, it felt like a puzzle to solve using my mage to counter the complete BS “mechanic” of duo bosses being beside each other, it felt like beating the Mage Tower for the first time, and I don’t say that lightly.
So please, Dev’s, just have some system where Mind Control cannot be applied to units above their level, and if that’s possible perhaps have another system in place where you talk to an NPC that disables duo bosses being impossible to kill while beside each other like in Halls of Valor or The Queens Court, or bosses chain disabling the player like the Conclave encounter in Battle of Dazar’alor (Transfer the effects of pvp disables to legacy bosses?).
Much love to anyone that reads this, and remember, don’t stand in the fire!
