This is Classic. Multiple classes and specs use the same gear and weapons. Stat priority isn’t as cut and dry as it is on Retail. If you can’t handle competition for gear, I suggest you stick to questing. All this complaining about how someone stole “your” gear reeks of entitlement.
Ninjaing is generally referring to the need on a BOE item they plan to sell and not use.
Edit: taking something for an offspec or the spec you are not currently is is not a “ninja”
The forums seem to think so. Lots of crying over a lost roll. Claiming they needed the item more then the other person. The hunter thread has almost 900 posts now. 900 posts over a level 20 item. Ridiculous.
^This. I’m glad my server is calling these people out in chat because I don’t want to run with them.
Actually it’s a lot of legit threads about ninjas. This is why we needed classic back. To find out who the human filth is. Good luck to all these ninjas showing their true colors in the first instance too.
Its like you said this is Classic, and you wouldn’t have that full authentic Vanilla Feel if we didn’t have a bunch of ninja complaint threads.
How about getting a class helm, allowing classes to roll, losing the roll, and keeping it anyway - because your the ‘tank’.
Ninja looting in my book.
Except when a mage rolls need on leather, that’s a clear ninja
Agreed. If the item is usable by said class, then it isn’t a ninja.
This message was brought to you by the Hunters Association of Azeroth.
This is also considered a ninja in my book - at least if you lost the roll, and its actually one of the cases that Blizzard might intervene in since you had everyone roll first.
Most cases i’ve seen someone call out ninja have been nothing more than entitlement however.
Go youtube Asmondgold and helm of Wrath.
so a warrior needing on a cloth chest with stam and intel is not a ninja?
The forums are plagued with trolls. Hardly something I’d judge an absolute over.
So in classic, this won’t soulbind the item?

True but in some cases, they “ninja” items simply to sell to a vendor as sad as that is…
I am one of those persons who actually wants others to do well, get nice items an whatever and would never do that… but not everyone shares that mindset…
Like someone above said. There’s a lot of confusion on what “ninja looting” is. A good example of this is shamans at level 37 need rolling the mail Herod items and warriors losing their minds. It isn’t ninja looting, it’s definitely pretty scummy but they do intend on using it. Or when a shaman rolls on the Chapeau off Whitemane for their off healing set, or a rogue takes Hand of Righteousness for leveling (I actually did this, have you seen that weapon damage?)
Unless your class outright can’t use it, like need rolling Chromatic Carapace as anything that isn’t a warrior, it isn’t ninja looting. To those complaining, never play a melee dps then. A majority of your items are shared with hunters, and warriors, and idiots thinking they’ll ever be allowed to raid as feral. Truestrikes are a good example of this, as well as Dal’rend set.
Now, I do make a special point for scumbags who need roll on recipes other classes are there for and sell them. Had a warrior in my group need roll on Robe of the Archmage pattern in LBRS over our mage because he “could sell it and get his Lionheart Helmet funding from it.”
Though is was something I said was going to be an issue with Blizzard making every single item its final form. When the recipes are BoP pre BWL it isn’t a problem, but now that they’re BoE because of a later change, a lot of pissed mages, priests, and warlocks are complaining.

Maybe it was a rogue in sheeper’s clothing?

False. Ninja is when someone rolls need, wins the roll, and logs out immediately after. Hence “vanishing like a ninja.” Winning a roll on a piece of gear that would’ve benefitted someone else better only hurts one person, but leaving the group mid-dungeon hurts everyone.
I agree. It’s not a ninja if it happens before level 60 anyway. Good post!
