I’m sure this could apply to many things that keep on dropping when we don’t want them but in this case I’m just thinking of the new Thorn-Laden Hearts. I have 3 of these things taking up bag space that are identical apart from the type on animal heart they have. So I looked up what they’re for. Taming a new kind of pet? Cool. I don’t particularly care about that since I’ve used the same pets since vanilla but I don’t mind a new ability just for fun.
Except that in this case it’s not fun. I checked it out and it requires an NPC in drustvar who is almost never there. Any time I check, I see a dozen hunters around the area just waiting and waiting. Seriously bad game design when you get players hanging around doing nothing.
The thing is, I don’t really care about the pet taming and wouldn’t even bother with it unless it was easy (not waiting around for hours). So I’d be happy to just delete the items from my inventory. But if I do that, they just keep on dropping when I’m in the emerald dream area. So unless I can actually follow through with this NPC that seems to be missing most of the time, I’m stuck with 3 useless items in my bag. And they’re hardly the only example of things taking up space that really can’t be easily gotten rid of.
