It wasn’t five minutes. The amount of design in the geography, the reward structures, the world objectives, the details of the different drakes and all tells me they spent two whole years on this.
You tried it once and fell to your death. I understand why it would make you hate it. But you should realize they didn’t spend 2 years developing this so you’d come away with a sense of displeasure.
The mechanic works on acceleration. Meaning all of the on use abilities work much better when the dragon is already at full speed. This means you can vertical leap a little at 0 acceleration or you can leap a whole tower at full acceleration. I’m not even halfway through the talents for the thing and already I can hit whatever I want.
Many people hate it and you’re just being a fanboy with their head in the sand. To be fair though I don’t actually hate it, I just hate the motion sickness and headaches that it gives. Otherwise I would like it
how did you know we’d be able to fly in dragonflight? did you just hear it from your neighbor and never bothered to check anything from trailers and such?
At this point it feels you’re just trolling, and really badly to boot.
Wow went from being lag city even on low pop servers with the promise of flying. Now it’s just as dead as shadowlands. I’ll be following the crowd out the door. Keep your broken mechanics. I’m done with blizzard.
I for one am a person with arthritis and I will have to say it is harder on me but doable. It is harder for me also because of hand coordination not being good and it does put a strain on me. It is a good system just may not be suitable for some people.
What I use is what’s called a Patu, or a desk extension for your arm so your mouse hand doesn’t get abused.
Really your eyes should be whatever is the most comfortable distance to see but not to get sick playing games. I also run multiple monitors so there is always more light entering my eyes than just the main monitor. Again I don’t have it though so not sure if any of this will work.
Well for what it’s worth, I’m level 65 and I’ve yet to come across any main quests (or side quests) that force you to dragonride to complete it. As far as I know the only thing in the game that requires you to do dragonriding is to collect the glyphs that are used to unlock your dragon’s talents.
I think a lot of us quit when the game becomes boring or the class design is rotten or the story is unforgivably bad. Lots of reasons. Trying DF once and quitting instead of toying with it is likely not common.
I would think that would be rather dumb of them and they would get negative PR because that prevents people who physically have trouble using DR ,or cannot at all…impossible to fly and thats just a PR storm waiting to happen.
Falling to your death is avoidable 100%. Just for frame of reference my first flight took off at zero acceleration and like you’d imagine nothing happened. It was bewildering. I was trying to fly the drake like I would drive a car by giving it a little gas. It doesn’t work like that at all.
What, did Asmongold rage bait over a race he didn’t score gold in and now everyone thinks it’s a bad system? Please.
Actually, I’ve been quite vocal about my discontent with the game for years and have never shied away from speaking my mind about Blizzard’s incompetence during Shadowlands and BfA. Your implication of me being a fanboy is way off base and is clear that you’re upset that I don’t agree with you.
You don’t have any grounds for saying many people hate it other than what you’ve seen on the forums. You saw a handful of posts saying “I don’t like it, change it back” and assumed “Dang, people hate dragon riding.”
Because if you spent time just about anywhere else, you would see a completely different picture being illustrated about dragon riding’s reception. For every post you can find that hate’s dragon riding, I can probably find two from Reddit or other WoW-based forums that love it.
It’s fine if you don’t like dragon riding. I don’t expect everyone to like it. I don’t expect everyone to agree with me, but your claims about the number of people who hate the system are baseless beyond the echo chamber that is the WoW forums.
I’m really happy to hear this actually. I always heard people say parts of it is mandatory with Dragon riding. I also have a friend who told me it might be an option to ride along with him as part of the system? He called it Ride Along. I looked it up online and got this:
“The Ride Along feature allows you, once your friends enable it, to follow them while Dragonriding in a whelpling form. While you’re in the whelpling form, you’ll follow their every Dragonriding stunt and you won’t be left behind, especially if you’re still not daring enough to try Dragonriding. Unfortunately, only one player can follow the main Dragonrider across the isles. It’s still unclear if you need to learn Dragonriding before you can tag along.”
I know you said you’re not max level yet, but I’m wondering if you have seen anything about this system?
