Trying to figure out if I need a separate keybind for my new dragon buddy.
With the information we have thus far, no. But it’s not even alpha yet. So we don’t know what, if anything, will change.

It doesn’t seem so at this stage since its been shown as an expansion feature. But things change with this game, as we know, so your guess is as good as ours.
I assume it’s going to depend on how they’re implemented. My money’s on it being a different button, with a transition/addition of a regular mount option later in the expansion.
Or it could be like a spell that is displayed in the general tab of the spell book that can be put on the Action bar. Being unable to resist art impulses…it might look like this (perhaps if you picked a bronze drake):
