Battlenet really needs a friends list cap increase still to this day, i have had a capped list for years.

Im lucky if they even talk to me after they decide to add me yet alone they come back at all. Most of um quit for good or never talk to me so no point in keeping them
A lot of projecting going on, not everyones friends list is just people you will never play with again, some of us play every blizzard game and that list is shared across them all. This limitation has been around for far too long.
