Can there be a serious discussion or poll done by the devs to allow for dual spec in SoD?
Some way to get it, unlock it, etc. It could be a questline!
Just thinking about wishing I could farm on my hunter with a BM spec but then go into raids/pvp as my other spec would feel great. Along with my hpal, being able to heal in pvp/raids/dungeons and then quest on my own with a ret spec…
In one of the most recent videos. Where they also talk about STV etc.
search youtube for " Intro to Season of Discovery and a Sneak Peek at What’s Next | WoWCast"
Maybe im trippin… I think I saw someone else talk over that video and they definitely talked about dual spec. but I didnt hear it mentioned in that video. So ye… my bad.
+1 for dual spec tho, I really want it. I spent 2g every time I raid
I’d like dual spec, not for the gold sink, but I’d like to not have to respect after the raid to go do solo content or pvp. Going from darn to if just to go from destro, to aff is more annoying than the 1g.
And I am asking for it because it is a good feature. I am not trying to make this game exactly like retail where you can swap everything out of combat.
Lower respec fees will be nice, but it still will suck needing to go to a trainer and respec every one of my points ever time I want to change something instead of having it already set and ready.
Even if you can only change talents in a rested area, that is fine with me as far as dual spec goes. I don’t think out in the world anywhere is a good place to swap specs.
This is a huge part of and feature of Classic. It gives a great deal of meaning to even having trainers in the game, which they still have in Retail for some reason (I guess because nobody ever prioritized removing them).
But sure, of course you are entitled to your own opinion and preferences and if dual spec if yours, then that’s your preference.
I’ll stick to mine, and that
I don’t like how it changes the game, doesn’t do much of anything to reduce respecc’ing fees or necessity, but does make changes to average requirements to maintain two specs, and oftentimes sets of gear for raid activities. And it removes the tradeoffs we make with specs in Classic that already allows a lot of hybrid classes to perform multiple roles.
This is literally one of the best things about Classic, in my opinion, that we have simpler trees and that talent choices are meaningful. Dual spec changes the trade-offs, and just as it does in Wrath would likely require specific specs for specific things, rather than dealing with sets of tradeoffs, that wonderful flavor of Classic.
snipy just move along. ur huntard, u have only one spec. the rest of us who play other specs are asking for dual spec so we can raid resto or tank, and dps in the world/solo. ur opinion is unpopular. if they can put in runes to change class specs and sh1t then they can put in dual spec or remove the cost of respeccing all together. its not a gold sink, the gold sink is now the damn AH in SoD because of bots and gold buyers making everything hundreds and thousands of gold for mats
Like firstly dude, in my particular case, I’m playing SoD, and this character is a bank alt from Classic Era, that has moved along the way to Wrath Classic, and will go to Cata Classic. I have selected it as my forum avatar because it is among the least likely to be affected by server transfers as other mains have over the years.
Secondly, while hunters in SoD are always going to play a DPS role, there are several viable specs, and it isn’t uncommon to respec between different activities, or even just for fun to try out different specs.
Additionally to that, while you personally may be someone who only plays and has only ever played one single character or multiple characters of the same class, it is quite possible that a forum avatar does not represent the entirety of a person’s experience playing classes in any given version or versions of WoW.
Just for your information, I am currently playing Hunter, Warrior, and Druid at level 25, and have mostly dual mained Warrior/Paladin since about Legion in Retail, as well as WoW Classic, except for Wrath Classic where I dual mained Druid/DK. I have held back on playing my Paladin in SoD, but may add one to the roster for next phase.
Dual spec isn’t a feature I personally like. I don’t like how it changes gameplay for average players who don’t even need to use it, but it does. Also, even though Wrath Classic has dual spec, I resepecc’ed my DK and Druid at least once or twice a week, because not only are both capable of multiple roles, they are also pretty fun in both PVE and PVP, and I tend to enjoy both.
It’s also not a bag of potato chips. Is anybody claiming otherwise?
Go to your trainer and respec. It’s not a big deal, it’s actually fun, and it’s one of those things in Classic that make Classic classic. Call it Classic flavor. If you’re complaining about Classic flavor, that suggests to me that it isn’t your preferred flavor, but what do I know?
