Can we please get a ban wave before the gates open. Botting and gold buying are out of control right now, everything you can farm but consumables aren’t sellable on the auction house because a million bots will undercut you the moment you post an auction. Consumables are unaffordable because all the raiders are gold buying and driving the prices through the roof, so if you aren’t an herbalist you are broke.
Honestly these ban waves should be weekly and happen during the maintenance.
They say they do them periodically so that the bot makers don’t know why they got banned. During maintenance seems like the perfect time to do so.
They way it is now, as long as the bot makes a profit before it is banned, the bots will always come back. Blizzard enables this behavior by waiting so long to ban.
Doing it this way…
Saves Blizzard money on moderation.
Enables larger profits for bots.
Banning them on sight..
Costs Blizzard money with increased moderation and costs of improving their detection system when bots learn to overcome them.
Costs bots time/money when they get banned before making a profit.
Blizzard has decided option 1 is the best for them.
That’s why I think weekly bans during maintenance would do a lot.
They could do that under the current system quite easily.
They can start by just banning everyone who goes to azshara for more than 30 minutes a day.
No they aren’t. GDKPs were banned. The forums and reddit told us gold buying and bots would plummet with GDKPs gone.
Oh wait that hasn’t happened?
Gold buying and botting is worse than ever?
Who could have imagined!
With bad ideas like yours…
You only drive me to take the botter’s side over yours.
Other than mildly annoy me in a BG, what has botter ever done to me?
These fresh servers sound like they really worked out great.
Nightswiper is a gold buyers dream for sure. They haven’t had this much fun since they were paying vanilla pserver devs for r14 and gold preclassic.
Well yeah they banned GDKPs thinking gold buying would be gone and yet it’s had the complete inverse effect ![]()
True, nobody is gold buying on era.

Good thing the GDKP ban stopped all that gold buying, right?
Yeah those bots are working overtime to meet the demand in 2025 Era because of how cutthroat endgame is after 6 years and all the 24/7 GDKPs being run by its massive 10k base.
People were going to buy gold in stupid amounts with or without GDKP. GDKP is just too stupidly obvious a place to spend it.
Small servers small botting
Big servers big botting
A certain amount of corruption is inevitable. No one is getting out unscathed. Its a small problem for small servers and a big problem for the big ones and I don’t mean proportionately.
Drive up the cost of goods via selling their botted gold to cheaters(Gold buyers), grinding your quest mobs, and taking up server/faction slots.
Boosting is also a stupid obvious place to spend it.
Mounts are the other big expenditure.
Tbh I’d be okay with free racial mounts tied to rep.
Level 40 mount requires honoured.
level 60 requires exalted.
Removes the incentive to cheat to get a mount for the most part.
You can get Honored/Revered through questing alone.
Keep the other racial mounts at gold cost so if you want a raptor as undead you pay for it.
They should do a detailed manual investigation into each scarab lords - there will only be so many it is feasible - and perma ban forever any that are caught having cheated.
Raid consumes are probably the biggest one long-term, especially by naxx consumes become quite expensive per run. Easily more than a epic mount if one is pumping and blizzard didn’t buff flowers
That didn’t answer my question.
What did a bot ever do, to me?
Your listed items are all subjective…
I haven’t bought or noticed anything overtly expensive, other than the highly coveted raid items that I was never going to buy anyways.
Which quest mobs? The blasted Lands’s wildlife? I’ve been able finish those quests even with so many hunting them down.
Faction slots? Are you serious? That’s the company’s fault for imposing that authoritarian feature. Why would I blame the bots for that?
Raising the cost of goods is something they did to you directly.
You pay more for stuff because they’ve introduced more gold into the economy.
Taking your quest mobs means it takes you longer to get your quest done.
Taking up server/faction slots means you have to sit in a queue(Not a problem since server launch) or wait to create a character due to faction imbalance(an issue on SoD and Anni).
Those things have a direct impact on you and your gameplay.
Tbh the fact you’re gaslighting so hard leads me to believe you’re a cheater(gold buyer).
The only people that defend botters/botting are the people who benefit from it.
