Can we please have Peacemode?

Doing this would be a final end game thing where the Alliance and Horde sign something together agreeing to put a stop to fighting and work together to build a new world.

Of course they won’t let Alliance go to Horde cities or Horde go to Alliance cities, but at least make it so you can group up with the other faction.

I understand your situation completely. The only solution I can suggest is the both of you rolling new toons and slogging through all the old content.

Well, we knew we couldn’t play together on that toon but the topic just reminded me of it. We do stuff on our Alliance and Horde characters elsewhere. It was simply a nice idea, if we’d been able to somehow. Perhaps in some form of mercenary mode?

No its not. Its 5 peeps saying lets mix it up. This doesn’t have to tie to story. Its not like possessed lady waycrest will go:

OMFG!!! why the hell is a BE hunter in your party alliance. This will not do. Not at all! She is possessed, she needs to die. WTH does it matter if its an alliance paladin on tank and BE hunter on DPS that makes it happen?

And its not like they even lock out dungeons if it means that much. At some point they stopped putting dungeons on faction zones as I recall. As in the city dungeons in like Stormwind or orgrimmar.

Even if so, If you try really hard you can iirc sneak a horde into the stormwind dungeon. Just have to live to get to it. Rogue iirc best way, sneak in ninjya style.

I tried my horde DH once. Flew to the roof tops, tried to glide and run in. Got soooo close but they got me lol.

Again, this happens all the time on WQ’s. If the game cared so much about this…why aren’t WQ’s faction specific? turtles in drustvar do not say nope…you are horde. Sorry, I can’t help you here bro. Go back to the swamp, desert or the jungle horde player and I will deal with you there.

I find it interesting that Hearthstone barely acknowledges the existence of the Horde and Alliance, almost as in that game’s timeline the faction war ended a long time ago.

Trust me I know the feeling, If I could get my girlfriend to run my (Un)forsaken Hunter (Aka my sister) while I ran this toon I would be happy, but noooo my big sister had to go off and die on me and come back as one of the (Un)forsaken, so now the great god DEV says we can’t be family anymore. :rage: Too bad for DEV that my heart is Horde.

It’s not World of Peacecraft now is it.

No, war does feature in it. But there could be lots of other things to make war on, as there was in Legion. We need to expand the possibilities I reckon.

Gotta love a good Ghostbusters riff. /salute

Peacemode is an awesome idea. +100% xp while turned on. All quest gold donated for universal healthcare, orphanages, and murlocs. Time jump 20 years. They could make one faction and the hardline warmongers remaining in the two previous factions be the big baddies. Or let the war mongering players join that faction.

The leaders of Peacewind should be the Council of Plot Armor: Reincarnated Varian Wrynn, the Ghost of Uther, Wise Old Thrall, and Zappyboi. Think of the armorsets these bros would wear with incredible shoulder pads like we’ve never seen before with lions and spikes for days. They could be allied with the edgy land of All the Elves Everywhere, where 85% of the playerbase would live. All Peaceville Champions receive a Raptorhorse faction mount.

Take my money Blizz.

Bor-

-ing.

you’d not have to do it. It be optional. Make the group, no side restrictions sign up for it.

Or not. Player choice.

If 10 people want to run mixed…it has no effect on a pure faction crew whatsoever. the beauty of instanced pve:

What the hell that crew does in their instance means nothing to you and your instance.

Yes please, the faction war is the worst part of Warcraft.

The BEST moments in Warcraft have all come from uniting and standing together. The story of us versus Arthas the Lich King, uniting at the Wrathgate. Us venturing to Outland to stop Illidan. Uniting on the Broken Shore to defeat the Legion and beyond even further to Argus. But consistently whenever the faction war is brought up it’s total trash. It makes no sense majority of the time and major character look like morons and neither faction is satisfied with how Blizzard handles it. It’s time to let this crap story arc die and return to truly epic storytelling like we had in Wrath of the Lich King.

Isn’t that mode obtained by turning warmode off??

Yeah, I mean we should. We go from “Faction War” to “We need to work together to defeat the ultimate evil” to “Wary temporally Ally” in a cycle over and over again with the expansions. Should be able to make some sort of grouping system that is focused on PvE.

Right, because fighting against Illidari (in TBC), the Scourge, the Burning Crusade, the Old Gods and a LONG etc is world of peacecraft.

I really like when trolls like you post here, you’re bumping my thread. So thanks!

I get you’re trying to prove a point, but the faction divide has caused real problems over the years. Its fun to hate on the other faction and all, but simply diminishing the consequences of it is not alright.

This game is called World of WARcraft, not World of PEACEcrap.

Look at Guild Wars 2 where all races live in harmony and see how far that game goes.

I think visiting cities might be a bit much but I agree with the rest.

I wouldn’t be surprised if being able to “opt out” of the faction war isn’t coming soon based on the other systems they’re experimenting with - giving us a potion to talk to each other, letting us choose not to side with our faction leader when she’s going too far, and even letting us phase ourselves out of PvP entirely.

How far it goes… like being the second most popular MMO on the market you mean?

Blizzard has started retconning stories. What’s to prevent them from retconning the game itself? Nothing. One day you’ll wake up and discover you are REALLY playing W o P today. Or not, if that is the final straw that causes you to stop playing. But saying things like “It’s World of WARcraft” ignores the proven possibility of anything being changed at any time, ever. Whenever they feel like it. Well, except true class/spec balance. That will never happen.

I prefer to think of it as ‘Mercenary Mode’. While I realize that orcs vs humans has been the backbone of the series, the faction war is so old at this point that I just can’t find any interest in it anymore. It also divides friends who want to play different races, and that is never a fun feeling.

What bothers me is that we could still have a mercenary mode while still preserving the feeling of an active or cold war between the Alliance and Horde.

For the future health of the game - especially as more cool races are added to the game - I think a faction neutrality option would be good for the game. Crossrealm has killed any local server faction player wars, so I just don’t see a point anymore in restricting players based on whether they choose team blue or team red.

Given the fact that it has lousy dungeons and endgame, Guild Wars 2 is doing pretty damn well and not having separate factions and servers to keep you from playing with your friends is a godsend in that game.
