Hey Blizz, it’s time we got rid of these silly rules and allow more flavor and choice for players. The reasoning behind players not being able to differentiate between a mage or a warrior its no longer valid. There are plenty of toys, hermitage armors or certain armor combinations that already break this reasoning. Holding players back is just silly at this point.
Yea and I want more bank space too
I hate the idea of a Mage in full plate or a Warrior in leather.
Even worse is a Rogue in chain mail.
It’s dumb. Simply put.
how so? Ever heard of tribal warriors in a jungle or forest? Like berserk trolls with just hides and two axes.
Also. I brought this up a long time ago. I think during Legion (ok not that long ago) and was berated with “I don’t feel like seeing a priest look like a warrior blah blah”
I am thinking to myself like, the possibilities of xmogs open would make for millions more xmogs and choices.
Just do it already!! Oh yea and still more bank space as well. Ty!!
What you described would be a Shaman or a Hunter, not a Rogue.
It just breaks too many concrete “rules” that do not need to be changed.
To you it might be cool to have the ability to transmog into anything. To me I hate that a Warrior can not only be a melee juggernaut with huge sword but can also steal my identity as a Warlock / Rogue / Shaman.
Hey Blizz. I know you just spent a lot of dev cycles on the character customizations and also on giving us some loosened transmog options already but I am going to drop to the floor and flail around screaming till you give me more. And then when that happens, I will find something else to demand!!
/s
Jeez suggesting something is a demand. You must be a poor, fragile thing.
Funny part is minus the robes vs pants many sets dont really look like a certain material…a lot of “cloth” shoulders do not look like they are made out of cloth…
Whats with mail robes? They look just like cloth robes…
The arguement about plate mages is a bit strange when you look at mail vs cloth vs leather… put a shaman next to a Warlock next to a druid next to a Paladin all in robes and tell me they dont all look pretty similar…
Just remove the restrictions.
It’s really unnecessary at this point. Some cloth mogs have mail on them.
So is your post.
You can tell what someone’s class is by their tooltip this is dumb. If it’s confusing for people to figure out what class someone is then improve the UI, don’t restrict transmog.
Meanwhile I’m gonna go run around on my mage in full stormwind guard armor because of how outdated and nonsensical the rest of your post was.
Right. Do you think I am unaware of that? Being able to tell them apart is not my issue, but if arguing a point I never made makes you feel good then go for it.
would be nice to have a setting to hide others’ xmog.
I disagree we just need less transmog restrictions.
Blizzard has designed gear for specific classes only.
Let’s use T1 as an example, imagine me a little pink hair gnome wearing the priest T1 set and 2 giant swords charging at you.
Wouldn’t that look silly and kill the immersion? Sure you could argue But what about the blizzcon PJ’s mog!!
Well that’s neutral it isn’t class specific.
I impose we have less restrictions within reason, such as hunters able to mog leather/mail and warriors/pallys can mog mail/plate.
Can’t agree with that. I mean I don’t know where you’re coming up with concrete rules for what classes can wear besides made-up ones. Half the gear is indistinguishable tbh, as stated above.
I still think some rules should be put in place, like with certain sets and weapons, etc… Not sure how exactly that would work though.
Priests with heavy / mail armor just look like battle priests to me.
paladin in full cloth gear just looks like a paladin who chooses to go full holy mode and surrender his protection from plate armor to cloth.
Rogue in plate armor just reminds me of a Rogue sacrificing dps for more protection.
Idk that’s just how i look at it. It would be off to see a warrior in a full warlock set though, which is why some restrictions should be in place some how.
The set rules for RPG’s. Traditionally Warriors wear plate, mages wear cloth. These are the foundations to any good roleplaying fantasy game.
Games where Mages can wear knight sets and Warriors can wear skimpy outfits are nothing more than a sandbox mess.
… so a Warrior? Not a rogue at all.
Are you sure about that one? I do recall games like DND having battlemages, savage warriors, earthwardens. Ashes of Creations has a bunch of these classes and subclasses.
There would be some differences. Don’t care to try to explain how I think it would work. Not interested lol.
I honestly like how Albion Online does it. I know you think its a sandbox mess, but it’s nice to be able to have less restrictions…I hope blizz didn’t hear me say that otherwise we might get MORE restrictions.
Ashes of creations is not out yet. Can’t really comment on how well it’ll turn out.
D&D is not World of Warcraft. A battle mage is not just a Mage in heavy armor.
“Savage Warriors” are survival hunters or Enh shamans.
Those are different classes, not a class with a different look.
Right… but no there wouldn’t be. Because we’re talking about transmog, not being able to use the actual gear.
At least let white and grey gear be available. There’s some rp reason “item must have some magic in it… (be at least green)”.
Then just come up with a consumable that used on whites and greys that allows then be used.
There’s some cool classic grey gear I’d transmog.
