The issue with removing tier sets is that Blizzard will bring in another system to replace it. For example Azerite gear from BFA or the domination shards from SL season 2.
Does anyone really want to go back to those?
I kinda miss having a 6th tier slot option. Missed cloaks being possible tier slots from Legion. No idea why they stopped doing that once they brought back tier pieces in SL S3.
I understand your frustration, OP, but this has nothing to do with tier sets. Tier sets are good for the game and the community.
Itâs the bad, unlucky RNG that is the real issue.
This red herring argument about getting rid of tier sets doesnât address the actual problem at all, which is tier setâs being time-gated.
The best, fairest and most rewarding system we ever had was the token system, where you get enough eventually from doing runs to trade in for the gear you need. That covered all the bad rng that some people had.
But then a bunch of whiny elitist players started crying about how that devalued their gear, and blizzard bent the knee for the 0.001% as they always do.
This is entirely accurate, and catalyst just shouldnât have limited charges, or at least should take a currency that isnât RNG and is farmable from content.
Destiny quite literally lets you just mill gear into new stuff like itâs going out of style, and the only thing that caused the game to go downhill was a bad expansion. Obviously the system can work, the fact we canât just tier convert anything we get as needed is wildly stupid to me. It just sits in my bag for 2-3 weeks waiting for conversion half the time. Not allowing it quite literally does not impact my player power, and only harms people without full sets.
