If we ever get a re-design, I really want this to be a thing. I want the choice to cover up - because hey, maybe I DON’T want my character to fight in what’s basically a metal skin-suit.
I think a neat idea instead would be for each armor type to have it’s own level of cohesion with the body - this way you don’t have to make seperate body types for each race, and you can just make them conform differently.
Plate - You become a little rounder, a LOT chunkier. Instead of a concave curve from shoulder to waist, it’s a convex one - one that’s pretty much the same regardless of sex.
Mail - A little more body-con - but kinda like if you were wearing full body bell-bottoms. All the wide parts of the body define where the rest of it falls.
Leather - Body-con as all heck. This stuff’s tailor-fit to ya, and it breathes like nothing else. When you run in it, it’s meant to look good and comfortable.
Cloth - I’m thinking like a mix between leather and mail. Like…it conforms to the shape of your body until we get to high-movement areas - like wrists, necks, ankles, and knees. THen stuff gets a lil baggier.
I don’t know - I feel like this would add a ton of really cool customization - especially if every class and use any kind of armor.

Your idea does sound like a lot of work… it would be awesome though! Maybe for now something simpler, just having a modest and not modest option for some pieces.

Okay but - as a warrior main - what I’m asking for is less plate that’s just…texture over my chest.
Personally I really loved the deathstalker set for leather, with that little chestplate. that and the Horde Plate.

We haven’t had a lot of boob plate lately tho, to the point that I wish we had more like that. Lol
A great way around this would to be allowing us to mog into any armor type!

asdfasdf Okay so on one hand you do have a point - not a ton of cleavage revealing stuff around nowadays, which is good for plate wearers. On the other hand - I’m looking for stuff that looks like actual plate - i.e. Plate armor shouldn’t look too different depending on if you’re male/female.

…and on the 1256th post it was the boobs that broke you. Or plate boobs…or boobs on a plate. Something did it though. 
There are so few boob plates i’m really confused why this is an issue. As a warrior main you have a ton of other options to mog to, and you can even put a tabard over it
The real issue imo is that male characters have so few plate that show their torso
This is why I love the chosen dead plate set, especially the blue. It has the extra piece of texture on top of the breast area that looks like it could probably actually deflect a blow. Same with the leg plates.

Seeing as it’s world of Warcraft, war in the name, war being done by military, and military having the 3 attributes I listed, it makes sense. And is lore friendly

Most plate in this game looks bad, it just looks like a shirt not plate youre better off with a tabard., it lacks details that stick out. Few do such as the new pvp set. NOW THATS ‘plate’. It sticks out, it looks, like its made out of a strong material
Some people like that. There’s lots of transmog.

Depends on faction to be honest. That has been my experience. Where Plate is concerned, it is HEAVILY skewered towards Alliance to be more iconic, heavy looking, soldier military classic fantasy. For both genders. Horde on the same Tier sometimes just looks like a mess, probably due to the “varied” anatomies of the races.
Regarding your ask… oof. You’re asking basically to rewire and remesh the architecture of races and quadruple to work done by artists. The reason gear is “painted” on the skin is because it’s easier and much faster to produce on a mass scale. Remember there are now more than 20+ races that a single piece of gear needs to be done for. Double that for gender.
Big, big, big ask.

Then transmog the items YOU want. Dont request to take from others because it isnt what you want. Its been since TBC since anything like that dropped anyway. If anything, give us more and better looking platekinis.
