Not saying we should lose the old guild tabards since I’m sure some people are attached to them. They should remain an option. But they are so clearly dated, and we need something fresh. The recent tabard models in this game have been so nice, and guild tabards deserve that level of polish.

Yeah, fully agreed.
Give us new tabard models (ie the kind that don’t have a blank gap where the belt goes, what the heck is that?), and an updated set of icons/borders/backgrounds to pick from.
I’m actually okay with them just HD-ifying the existing set, but if people feel strongly about that, have a “Legacy” tab and a “General” tab or something so you can choose from both.
I don’t think Guilds as a system need a ton of love, I think pushing it too much is obnoxious - guilds are fine as an optional social construct. But Tabards and the crest system for them are one of the oldest things in the game and need updating.
I’d also argue for removing the Charter System. It’s trivial to get 4 people you don’t know to sign it, for gold or otherwise, and it is almost always the case that all 4 of them get gkicked or gquit themselves within 2 minutes of the guild forming, because there was never any intent to form a guild together with those people.
I get the purpose, but its not how the game or its community actually functions, and never really has been the case even back when it took 10 signatures. So scrap it. Make forming a Guild a minor to moderate gold sink or something instead. (Nothing more than 100k, ideally less than that)
Any tabard/crest updates should also be applied to the personal tabard stuff we got in Dragonflight.

Agree!! A newer designer would be so nice, something that allows you a preview of icons/borders/etc rather than just cycling through and then having to cycle back to the one you liked. As well as, of course, some crisper icons/borders and a newer tabard base!

This is huge for me!! The belt gap is so annoying aggh, especially with so many pants/belts/shirts that dont cover you all the way. Ugh. It always looks so awkward. My guild uses the Azure Renewal Tabard as a “guild tabard” simply because our actual guild tabard is so ugly. :[
The game cannot handle that much of HD graphics running around… Otherwise, we would’ve seen dynamic cloaks long time ago since they are already in game for some NPC’s etc.
