Fresh is bad for the current timeline. Have to wait until cata/sod is finished. It is a good timing to announce the next fresh during the 20th anniversary (Nov) if blizzard cares.

Please no changes, no one (at least I don’t) trusts Blizzard can make a classic+ better than no changes.

I feel this will go over just as well as those of us who asked for a tbc era or wrath era. Blizzard will just ignore it. At least classic has got more stuff with hardcore and sod even if you arent a fan of it.

While I really want a fresh Classic Era server that isn’t connected to the other servers for PvP queues, I want Blizzard to do it right first.

  • Handle bots, ban them immediately.
    • Flag all suspicious behavior (source and destination) such as mailing a large amount of gold, trading large amounts of gold, buying items on the AH for large amounts of gold, etc.
  • Handle players by-passing BG queues to make pre-made groups.
    • Just let players have an option to queue as a pre-made group so players who want to do that can, and players who want to play solo against other solos can as well.
  • Ban players who are being toxic.
  • Ban players who abuse the report a player feature to mute them or kick them from the game or make it so report thresholds require a human GM to research the claim and they have to issue the penalties one way or another.

Without handling bots and toxic players, Classic Era fresh servers will very quickly devolve into what they are today.

A fresh classic wouldn’t make sense. Better to just work on classic +. How many times can you level to 60 anyway? Go find work lol.

I lvled multiple toons up in vanilla since 2019. I only had fun with SOD for 6 months.

Whitemanes economy is whacky, regular items going for thousands and thousands of gold, greens for hundreds and not incredible twink ones, just regular old leveling greens. A large portion of the population is very wealthy. Spend two seconds reading trade chat youll see what I mean.

It’s 8 not 5. I can multibox still if I wanted to but i chose not to. I actually asked Blizzard if they could ban all my accounts except my main but they said no. I’m over it on both retail and classic. I deleted all my toons on all my accounts except my main.

I love the idea of a ladder seasonal era and i dont even raid or do any serious endgame content, i just love the idea of classic wow thriving.

They should add some sort of incentive for the ladder thats tied to maybe gearscore, or maybe speedrun.

Then maybe do it like arena by top percentage and award a unique ground mount for that season.

Even adding that heat difficulty would be very competitive and actually make parsing useful for something.

I am sure it would be really hard but i love the idea of it.

The community has already done this for pve - its called warcraft logs.

Its great if you like playing the AH though. The big plus for a bloated economy is that theres always a crap ton of gold to be made off the AH.

Honestly the main problem here is that you’re relying on an external source to generate ‘hype’ around a ‘next big thing’, instead of just setting your own goals and getting excited to attain them.

Hype is getting a weapon from Kel’thuzad, and you don’t need fresh for that. Play the game.

I recognize the Classic privilege, and my heart goes out to you guys - I’d hella play TBC again.

Again, love the seasonal ladder idea. I’d also have to agree with you on the serious endgame content. I’d be super content just enjoying the thriving community. Maybe my gear does not get better than zg/ony/mc this time. I’m good with that.

I see where you’re coming from, to make what you will of what you’ve got, but this is very one-dimensional. There’s so much more to the idea of a fresh server than something like just going after the endgame loot. Getting the server’s 184th Might of Menethil nearly 4 years later does not hit the same as the big zeitgeist rush of getting such top tier loot as patches release. Or whatever other goal one might create for themselves so late in the timeline.

I am playing the game. I am still enjoying it. I’m just looking for some seasoning on this bland chicken lol

We get a fresh vanilla every time they do an update to sod since they break the game and add stuff to era that shouldn’t be there

No, It’s tbc or wotlk time to shine again. Then hopefully a breakthrough for classic+. This content can only replay so many times.

Fair enough, I can understand this perspective.

While I have played Era extensively and currently still am, I did take some breaks where I was unsubbed for about 4-months playing other things.

The chicken does get a little dry sometimes :poultry_leg: :salt:
