I just have to say it. The Midnight Season 1 Hunter tier set looks terrible. I’m so tired of the same old design: bones, leather scraps, teeth, and animal skins slapped together like a bad arts-and-crafts project. Blizzard has proven they can create amazing transmogs, so it’s frustrating that Hunters keep ending up with sets that look like they were made by a novice leatherworker after a bad hunt.
Hunters deserve better. We’re supposed to be survivalists, trackers, and skilled fighters, not people wearing the leftovers of whatever we just killed. Imagine a Hunter tier set that actually feels practical and immersive. Something with a visible quiver full of arrows, a bandolier packed with ammunition, or belt pouches for traps, potions, or even snacks for our pets.
Those small details would make a huge difference. A satchel slung across the chest, reinforced leather armor built for travel, light gear that looks functional but still stylish. Hunters could easily have one of the most visually interesting sets in the game if Blizzard focused on the “adventurer” theme instead of the “wearing a carcass” look.
We’ve seen them pull off incredible designs for other classes. It’s time Hunters got a tier set that feels worthy of showing off, something that actually makes us want to transmog into it and feel proud wearing it.
it’s actually my fault for thinking they were picking up on so much of what people have asked for recently, and I thought for sure no way would they make another garbo hunter set
they actually went above and beyond and made it worse than I could have imagined lol. only way they could have done better would be a garbage can with lids for shoulder pads and a rat head
Like, who in their right mind wants a mail set that looks like some novice leatherworker put it together? The pinnacle of Hunter set transmog was in Shadowlands, when the armor actually looked like metal, mail, and chainmail. Not some skin that’s been tanned and sewn together.
What are you talking about, wearing trophies is literally one of our “things.” Like half of the most famous hunter sets are, in some way, wearing the scalp and hide of a boss or prominent monster class. It’s like being upset by a Paladin set featuring glowing light bits.
I’m just glad we’re not going to be a bootleg Windrunner for the third season in a row, the fact that the set is troll-themed is a cherry on top.
It’s been done to death and played out. They need more sets that lean into archer aesthetic instead of just all slapping on ugly dead animal parts. Which has its place but enough already.
The Sanctum of Domination sets were peak. They finally made Hunters look like they were wearing real chainmail and metal instead of scraps, hides, and bones. That set felt powerful, functional, and actually worthy of the mail armor class. It looked like something a seasoned fighter or ranger would wear into battle, not a scavenger patching things together from whatever they could find.
That’s the kind of quality I want to see again. The design had structure, depth, and detail. It made the class feel serious and capable, not like a collection of spare parts. If Blizzard went back to that style with clean and practical designs, Hunters could easily have some of the best tier sets in the game again.
We just had that for two seasons in a row, and TWW had quite a few cosmetic sets that also lean into that archetype, it can take a break for a few months.
Leather is not mail, it’s that simple. Mail should look and feel like metal armor, built from interlocking rings, plates, and reinforced chain. Hunters wear mail for protection, not to show off the remains of their last kill. When our gear is covered in bones, teeth, and stretched hides, it completely loses that rugged, battle-ready identity. Mail should shine, clink, and look durable not like something stitched together in a hunting camp.
That’s a Ranger or an archer. A hunter does indeed often wear its last kill. And the 3 are indeed distinct. Like how the Windrunners are Rangers and not Hunters. They don’t use traps and flares and such.
I know this elf wouldnt be caught dead or alive in that. But for sure it is appropriate. Hunters have long hated our tier sets anyway
That’s exactly why we post on the forums, to give feedback and push for change. If everyone just shrugs and accepts designs they don’t like, nothing ever improves. The whole point of these discussions is to let the developers know what players actually want to see. Hunters deserve sets that reflect the strength and skill of the class, not another round of bones and scraps. Feedback like this is how we get better designs in the future, and it only happens when people speak up instead of settling.
