I have seen many many many times (at all skill levels, mind you) tanks losing threat even after a dps waits multiple seconds before hitting all their buttons and they get aggro ripped off the tank and the party starts getting one shot. This exists at a high level too with some of the best tank players on the planet…
Yes, bugs with VDH do exist and they should be fixed BUT why can’t all tanks just generate significantly more threat (like 10x or something) and when one mob of a set pack is pulled the threat table should apply to the entire pack as a whole so other players can’t rip one or two mobs from a multi-pack pull.
Is there an issue with this? Do we not want tanks to have aggro consistantly? There isn’t any skill in having major threat problems it literally only makes the experience worse and gets players to be toxic to one another because they don’t understand what is happening or if it is this person’s fault or that person’s fault.

Also, suggesting that is unbelievably ignorant to a very real issue. Not every group of 5 has a misdirect ability. Not a single group should HAVE to rely on such a thing.
this is, to me, the real problem. scaling is just crazy. dps goes PEWPEWPEW while tanks and healers continuously get nerfed or otherwise gimped.
I don’t know how any of these threat modifiers scale in actual mathematical terms, but it seems that tank threat needs to scale much more significantly than it does.
I think tank damage probably needs to come up a lot. Maybe tanks could get some damage added to their primary offensive cooldowns to scale better against the huge burst that dps are capable of this season.
If your getting aggro that’s your problem because there’s a high chance that you’re just bursting before the tank has a chance to hit more then one attack. If the tank is still moving, stop dpsing the mobs because they’re not done pulling yet. The more you dps while they’re moving the more threat you pull. DPS are so stuck on their stupid meters they can’t wait two seconds to make things explode. Don’t blame the tanks for your incompetence.
As a DPS yes please I am so bored of waiting for tanks to get aggro before I do anything fun. Using my ranged interrupt to pull in casters then just cc’ing is really boring I might as well be a healer at the start of the pull.
What are high keys? Only time I’m losing agro in 14-15s is when people burst while I’m still gathering. If they’re willing to wait for me to actually hit the groups I’m pulling then 40-50M dps is harmless. Never seen anyone sustain more than 60M through an entire pull either, and that’s been alright too.
There are times I think we need to do away with low/med/high keys and call them things like loot/vault keys (2-10), Achievement keys (11-12, for KSL and resil keys) and score keys (13+, when you are trying for score just on the chance of getting that slim % rating)
The thing is, what is a low key for some is a high key for others, and people have a tendency to think what is a high key for them is a high key for everyone.
