Progress what, exactly? I’ve been ignoring the PvP weeklies when they show up every single time for years now.
You’re not missing out on anything if you don’t do these quests.

God forbid PvPers have a way to get celebration tokens from something other then boring target dummies even if its arena skirms I’d rather do those then timewalking dungeons or raids.
It’s really simple, you just choose not to see it. If a person has to make a choice between earning rewards that week by doing pvp, or otherwise going without, then that is absolutely force. It doesn’t matter what the reward is. In this case it happens to be bronze tokens. If they want to have pvp weeklies, then a choice needs to be given of “you can do A or B for a reward.” A being the standard pve stuff, B of course being a pvp quest. If there is only B then they’re trying to pigeonhole people into pvp.
You should be allowed to get token BUT not at the cost of forcing others into an undesired game-mode. If my choice is to either do pvp quests or miss out, that is not a choice but them trying to force pvp on people through fomo which is wrong. If there is choice as said above, that’s one thing. However if there’s not then yeah that should never be a thing. pvp and pve need to remain as separated as possible. But of course the pvp folks always throw up the usual “what’s the big deal” when it’s all pvp as a gaslight.
If you have a choice, you’re not forced

You can get all 13 sets well before January (I’m 6/13 right now) without stepping foot into PvP. You don’t even have to do Korrak’s Revenge, which is 90% PvE anyways
If it’s exclusively pvp options then your “choice” is do a gamemode you have no interest in or miss out. That is not a choice. Just like the pvp wasn’t a choice if you wanted to complete the legendary cloak questline in pandaria. You either did pvp or got told to pound sand. That is straight up dishonest and dirty.
Irrelevant if it comes up all pvp as you’re taking longer than you should have, all because they want to try and force pvp on people. I have no issues with folks who enjoy pvp as they’re allowed to like what they like. What I do have an issue with is if/when it comes up all pvp quests and then the pvp folks whine about “just ignore it” when every other time they’re whining about how they should be included too. Well sorry but it goes both ways on that one. They don’t like it when it’s exclusively pve and “forcing pve” and I don’t like it when it’s exclusively pvp. Hence as I said, give people a choice of quest set A or quest set B, then everyone gets what they want. But somehow that’s supposedly unreasonable.
It’s not.
Nothing is all PvP. So no, it’s not irrelevant.
How are you missing out exactly?
YOU
HAVE
THREE
MONTHS
It’s not a race to see who finishes first.
It’s already been explained, you just don’t like the explanation. If I have to forgo rewards for a week because it’s all pvp stuff that comes up, that is by definition missing out.
I don’t care if it’s 3 months or 3 days. Keep pvp and pve as separated as possible. See above, if I have to miss out for a week because it’s all pvp, then yeah that’s wrong. My mind isn’t going to change on that.
The weekly activity is neither a PvP or a PvE event.
Ya’ll who keep pretending otherwise need to stop.
Doesn’t matter if it gives you Bronze Tokens or not, the weekly event is the weekly event. It includes PvE, PvP, solo activities, and probably some more that I can’t think of right now. Point is though, it ain’t a dedicated PvP or a PvE thing. So quit pretending it is.
But it’s not all PvP stuff. I literally just linked you the sources.
Read what I said slowly again because you’re arguing against something I never said. I said plainly, IF it comes up to a point that it’s all pvp and the only way to progress and gain the rewards is to do pvp or miss out, that is force. If there is choice and I can max out the rewards without the pvp junk, there is no force.
This is the most nonsensical argument ever, because that’s not even remotely how this works.
… you do realize that all you did here was admit to being a stereotype of “guy screams at clouds about nothing” in that case, right?
No one is being forced.
Nothing about the weekly event is PvP or PvE.
And people have plenty of time, even if one were to ignore every single one of the regular weekly events until January, to get all the tokens a person need to get everything unlocked.
This ain’t anything at all like the old legendary questline from MoP. So no one is being forced and if you aren’t arguing for what I thought you were arguing… you don’t seem to be arguing against anything at all except some hypothetical situation that hasn’t happened.
You know you don’t have to do them, right? Though the one time I did one, no one tried to gank me and I completed it via NPC’s.
I think you need to check the definition of “forced”
You got your PvE in my PvP!
You got your PvP in my PvE!
But how is those weeklies being next to each other forcing pvp? i don’t think they flag you just by standing near em or even by grabbing em?
I legit just ignore it, like I do the pet battle weekly.
It’s just that easy to do
True victims of FOMO for transmogs are at least getting 1800 in PvP every season for the Elite transmogs before they go away forever. If you can get 1800 doing some Arena Skirmishes should be nothing.
I ignore it, but I do feel like I am missing out on that bronze right now.
never gonna happen, wow is and always has been pve first. its why you gotta level to level 10 to even start pvp
