Helya might be banished back to Helheim but I support her getting revenge on Odyn. He is scum. If anything we should force him to stay in Helheim with how disgusting he is. I’m actually amazed this character is considered a good guy.

Odyn considered Helya his adoptive daughter, but when nobody wanted to volunteer to become Val’kyr to send the dead vrykul to the halls of valor he was planning on shattering female vrykul spirits and forcing them to serve as his val’kyr. Helya objected to this so he quite literally killed her and raised her as a val’kyr forcing her to serve him.
He is one hell of a scumbag.

Yeah ok? and when I was 10 I had to start mowing the lawn. Parents do wild stuff. If she didn’t like carting dead people around she should have got a job and moved out.

But that’s in the past and the Warriors need an awesome place to call their Class Hall. Let’s hope the players don’t pay much attention to that and the fact that Helya is well within her rights to hate him.

That account is what WoW Chronicle grabbed from the Disks of Norgannon which we can glean from Pyromancer Loregrain(the guy whose presence directed us to the Disks of Norgannon) being Mal’Ganis to be a fraud.
It now seems just as likely that Odyn’s account of Helya being mysteriously corrupted by the Shadowlands(I.E. the Maw) and begging to be made the first Valkyr is true as the Disk of Norgannon’s account collected by the Chronicle is!

A lot of it is chronicle lore and older lore. Odyn is a titan keeper so he has been around for quite awhile.
I’m really surprised this character survived the lawsuit.
I guess that’s because a majority of the old player base doesn’t know about it. The extent most know about him is he ordered to erase someone’s entire bloodline because a relative of theirs was a bad guy or something.

I absolutely DESPISE Odyn. I cannot stand him. He is one of the worst, most despicably obnoxious characters in the game.
If I had my way about it, Helya would drag him to the bottom of the sea and tentacle whip him for a few years. Let’s see if he can hold his breath that long.
I love playing a Warrior but there are some things about Warriors I don’t like, and that psychotic, deranged fool is at the top of the list.

Man this is 10000x more interesting than anything SL pooped out. They should’ve explored this more than just the small questline involving Odyn’s eye in the Maw.

Among what people stated, this is about forcing things against their will to further his objectives, which he got and what we see in Legion. However, there are things he’s also not very…keen on. He doesn’t support the Dragonflight, he in fact hates almost all dragons too, even the Dragonflight. Something about them to “Not be trusted to protect Azeroth” and would prefer to wipe them out too.
I did look all this up and found it interesting, almost everything about Odyn is quite scary and could not be chalked up as a “Good guy” but rather neutral or even bad in some cases. Honestly, if the rumors about Dragon Isles as a expansion happens, I bet Odyn will have some part in it because of these dragons major involvement.

I didn’t know much about WoWs Odyn except for what we saw in Legion so this was surprising to look up
tbh, I wish they would play the story out more than what the made it.I still don’t understand why Odyn did that to Helya.
She had a job. She was a titan-forged sorceress who helped Ra create the Elemental Plane to keep the Elemental Lords from destroying Azeroth.
That’s because when the rest of the Keepers decided to ask the Titans to bestow their power onto the dragons to create the Aspects, Odyn got all offended and said the Keepers were fine to watch over the world and didn’t need the dragons. The Keepers ignored him, so he threw a childish temper tantrum, took his toys and went home, breaking off part of Ulduar and raising it into the sky to become Halls of Valor.
