I’m sick and tired of having to play my dungeons like they’re nonstop speedruns and the added pressure that a untimed key brings and the toxicity that this system has spawned.
Why? I’m enjoying myself. The gear only goes up to 210 anyways.
/gasp
But bliz’s tournaments!
Classic gearing is the worst.
Once you reach max level the only way to get upgrades are as follows. First you have to hope to see the item that may not drop for 6 months. Then acquire it by the following methods.
- GDKP, lame.
- Loot Council, Lame. Better hope your guild likes you.
- DKP, lame.
Yeah, I’d never want classic gearing system. It’ takes away player agency almost entirely.
Why would you put those poor, helpless MDI announcers out of work?
You also forgot that as soon as you get a tank or healer geared up they jump ship to a more progressed guild.
I’d rather you just remove yourself from the community.
M+ is the most popular major feature Blizzard has ever implemented in WoW in the history of the game. Period.
Reading comments like the OP is like literally reading “Man yells at clouds”, like, what is going on in your head? You just want to yell into the void or what?
I mean not really. Look at how many people do the minimum just for a single vault reward at reset. I mean in BFA all anyone ever did was 1 mythic a week and most people only do 1-4 in SL for the weekly vault reward. PvP is even more rewarding this expansion then all of M+
Popular doesn’t mean good and being forced to do it doesn’t mean it is enjoyable.
Would love M+ to go away as to me it is the main issue with current wow progression, but unfortunately Blizzard has built the entire pkayerbase around it and chased off those who hated it.
Its so ingrained now uprooting it would be very painful.
Basically, this. Reverting back to Classic gearing would be a step in the wrong direction. The game has modernized. Sure, there are issues with the current loot structure. But the evolution is still infinitely better than what was available 16+ years ago.
I mean this is blatantly false. It took me a good while to get the wildheart set on my druid in dungeons, but waiting 6 months for a drop? Complete nonsense. Needing DKP to get dungeon gear? What?
Unless you are talking end game and not max level, but that’s not what the poster said.
No thanks. You dislike something so you want it removed for everyone else. What a selfish way of thinking.
All “Classic” gearing would do is create a HARD CAP of gear for raiders and non-raiders. That’s it; there’d be no inbetween, no “middle-class” so to say.
I distinctly remember vanilla and thinking, “well, I’m done…” because my warrior had everything he needed from the base dungeons. Raids? …err… yeah I didn’t have 3+ hours to sit in MC as much as I wanted to.
Some people like that feeling of completion, I get it. You can still have that here. Just YOU set the mark now. For me, my initial mark was getting all 184 gear from base mythics. Then I moved it up to 200. Now my goal is 203 since I can do 10s now.
And yes, you can start your own groups and eliminate that “toxicity” by being a decent person yourself instead of wanting to remove something that does make plenty of people happy.
197 is the soft cap. You get 200 ilvl gear from exalted rep. Your legendary can be earned by making gold and doing low layer torghast. You can slowly earn raid-drop legendaries through the covenant system.
So, no thanks. Come up with a better solution.
Where is a statistic that says people like it?
226 from the vault, which is the best/easiest method of getting gear that high item level.
You absolutely can! Classic is free with your sub if you want to play a game that uses the classic model.
My vanilla, not classic, guild was progressing on Nefarian when I saw the first magisters robe drop in UBRS.
Umm really? Because I would argue raiding and casuals are what keep the game going.
Take a look at my character and tell me you think I don’t know about the Vault. The guy wants classic gearing, which exists in dungeons because they drop gear. The old style of gearing didn’t have a weekly Vault so I didn’t bring it up.
Personally, I despise classic gearing. It was painful, annoying and created haves and have nots based on who you know and what clique you were in.
So no thank you. To me gear is a means to an end of doing the content I want, I already feel that blizz has nerfed loot too much and it’s getting in the way of me having fun.
