Can we just make tyrant instant cast? That;s all I ask

I know Blizz likes to buff the strongest and nerf the weakest. I already don’t expect any buff to warlock next patch, in spite of warlock design has so many problems, damage slow ramp up, squishy, pet easily die, etc. All I ask is to add a talent, make tyrant instant cast, it will instantly make warlock play feel better. Demon burst ramp up takes too long, every pet summons need cast except second machine, any of summoning get interrupted or tyrant get interrupted, or warlock get cced, second machine disappear, this burst get XXXX up. The chances that demon lock do a quality burst is too small. It doesn’t make sense. why mage can just click combust and start bursting, even sp has a PVP talent to make their 1.5 min burst instant cast. Why warlock cannot have it? Any other class can start burst whenever they want it. It will not make warlock OP at all, people still have tons of ways to avoid tyrant damage, but will make warlock playstyle feel much better.

Demonology is very annoying to play in PvP right now. By the time I get a decent amount of imps summoned, as well as having to time it with the dreadstalkers so I can consume and summon Tyrant - the target is dead. My imps despawn and then I have to start all over

Worst yet, the tyrant can be outrun from, or be LoS or other warlocks can just banish it

Demonology needs a serious rework. Do they want it to be the ‘master summoner’ spec they keep eluding to? Give us better demons to summon in such a way that doesn’t require perfectly timed spells chained one after the other

I also think it’s a slap to the face that most of the demonology legendries follow the same pattern of ‘you better cast this spell x amount of times in y seconds or you won’t do much damage’. Give us a Doomguard Legendary or something that actually is viable in the burst meta we are in

If anything, Summon Dreadstalkers should be instant. I think the biggest reason why Tyrant has a cast time is because if you cast Hand of Gul’Dan, you delay 3 imps for them to be consumed for Tyrant’s DeCon.

If Tyrant is instacast, I think the rotation is going to be funky. It should be a PvP talent if anything.

I’m sorry but that doesn’t make any sense. Which class rotation is “funky” because they have instant cast burst, name 1? If instant cast tyrant makes demo funky then give me funky all day.

Are you aware that your imps from HoG have a delay after finished casting it to be summoned for Tyrant to consume their health?

Yes I am aware of that. So to you the solution is make tyrant have a cast time to fix that delay? Why don’t they just get rid of the delay like they promised at the start of this expansion? Dude nothing you can say will make tyrant cast time make sense.

I did not say that it should have a cast time. In fact, I was never entirely against the idea of making Tyrant an instant cast. I’m simply prefer having Dreadstalkers having an instant cast time while making instant Tyrant a pvp talent since the delays are a thing.

Even Kalamazi covered this as your demons do not instantly update their health if you have any health gains. A lot of things about Demo needs fixing in terms of health buffering and delays.

Plus I have no idea what you mean by them promising anything. If anything, i’d take anything Blizzard says with a grain of salt at this point and anything saying otherwise what you take is at your poor discretion.

At the beginning of the expansion imps were supposed to appear almost instantly after casting Hand.

I mean I get what you are saying. But I can’t imagine a world both in pve and pvp alike where an instant cast CD actually harms a class rotation. That is a major oversight IMHO.

And I agree, imps should appear almost instantly after casting Hand. But as of right now, it doesn’t. If you make Tyrant an instant cast and use it after HoG in its current state, the Tyrant will not consume your latest 3 imps. It’s just how the ability currently works.

Besides, we’re not like Fire Mages that can combust out of thin air. We actually NEED minions to make our burst work: we have Dreadstalkers, Vilefiend, GFG and a pack of imps for that.

Which is one reason why I prefer having Dreadstalkers to have an instant case from Demonic Calling talent and have its proc make it free, while making Power Siphon just grant 3 charges of MC without sacrificing imps and make Doom baseline; replace that talent with something else.

Having Tyrant being instacast in PvP makes sense because some PvP talents have upsides and downsides. The upside of Tyrant being instant is that you won’t get kicked during it being cast. The downside of it is that you won’t have enough time for your demons to buffer with the current state of HoG and health scaling when it being cast.

Does the last paragraph make sense to you?

We don’t rely on imps to buff our tyrant in pvp currently so there would be no downside to instant tyrant in pvp.

Well then, there ya go.

Making a Tyrant instant cast will affect PvE rotation. Making it a PvP talent just makes sense.

Demo is a pet spec which all of our major pets should be instant cast IMO. The only thing that should be cast is HoG and sbolt.

Tyrant could be instant cast, Dreadstalkers could be instant cast (Demonic Calling real value is the Shard discount) but i personally don’t mind Dreadstalkers having a cast.

Tyrant instant cast would be fair, and in line with Infernal and Darkglare, the Imps issue would affect Tyrant (possibly loosing the first 2 or even all 3 imps from HOG) but you could play around it.

Having everything insta cast is a little boring and it’s unfortunate that we actually need to have everything insta cast in the current fast paced pvp action

These are powerful demons we are summoning (supposedly), I’d prefer they would have a cast time but it shouldn’t be so easy to interrupt casts. Casting Circle would be great if it were to come standard to all warlocks

Another improvement would be to allow us to summon demons without having to be within range or LoS. We are summoning, what does that have to do with enemy position? In a lot of situations it would be beneficial to slow the enemy, get behind LoS, summon another few demons and then get back in the field.

We also honestly need A LOT more demon choices to summon. I sometimes feel more of a ‘master summoner’ playing a DK

Demonology warlocks primary damage should be coming from their demons, not Demon Bolt or Shadow Bolt or anything else. The demons themselves don’t really wow me damage wise and they’re very easy to CC or LoS/run away from

I am back again to ask Blizzard please fix warlocks and make us more like Diablo 2 necromancers and allow us to summon the litany of demons to do our bidding as demo. Pet AI is less than desirable and if we had a huge amount of pets maybe wouldn’t be that big of a deal.

On a serious note some of these bugs just make demo super challenging to play not for gameplay reasons but for mechanics reasons. Hitting tyrant hoping it casts right at the right time only to see the GCD be consumed and no Tyrant. Feels bad.

Word?

Lol.

I feel like demonology suffers from too much synergy, if that makes sense. If everything doesn’t line up perfectly it just flops around like a magikarp. Have to time everything super precisely or Tyrant hits like a wet noodle, and even if it’s hitting hard it’s so easy to avoid.

I would decouple Tyrant entirely from consuming souls tbh, and increase the range of it to like 80 yards lol. Tune its damage accordingly and replace that talent with something else. It wouldn’t need to be instant cast then. Decouple it from buffing other minions while it’s up too and buff its damage to compensate, and make it throw out instant bolts instead of casting. Reactivate the skill to teleport it to a targeted location within 40 yards.

Then they just need some additional ways to build up shards while being trained that aren’t shadow bolt and they might be viable. Or give them something psychotic like the fire mage combustion reset on fireball. Make shadow bolt reduce the CD of Tyrant by 5 seconds and have every demon summoned reduce its CD by 1 second lol

The real issue is lack of instant high damage spells. Our ramp time doesn’t make for good pvp. Sure, curse everyone and hope others kill them so you can get kill credit. Honestly, I say make shadowbolt instant instead but cost more nana. Seriously, when was the last time you saw your mana bar at, or near, empty? Our spec is truly geared for pve.
