Of course the character looks new, its a death knight and is only days old and achievement points are not shared between characters. Maybe you are new to classic from retail or something?
Perhaps our experience with the lfg tool has been different because we play on servers with dramatically different populations.
And no i am not new, i have been playing this game since August of 2006 and played through all of “classic”.
To everyone here just to argue that rdf was not part of wrath, a couple simple google searches can show you that you are wrong.
Wrath release date - November 13, 2008
Wrath patch 3.3.0 - December 8, 2009 (this patch added Cross-Server Dungeon Finder)
Cata release date - December 7, 2010
So RDF was part of wrath for almost exactly half of the expansion. And as stated by blizzard themselves when talking about the success of wow, the population had substantial growth mid way through the expansion. So more people who played wrath were exposed to the original RDF than people who were not.
People are very willing to bail on a LFG group for a better prospect because it has no deserter debuff and it lets you browse the LFG listing while you’re already in a group.
I’m on a fresh server and discovered I could do without RDF (for now at least) but the LFG is just poorly designed.
Why does everyone who joins have to ask “so um what dungeon we running?”
Just about every group has people queued in as the wrong role. Why is it even an option to select holy priest as a DPS or tank spec?
Yeah, I agree. The LFG Tool does need some more work on, especially with the roles. It doesn’t make sense to queue as a Warrior and queue as a healer or as a priest and queue as a tank. Don’t get me wrong, the LFG tool is better than the original one we had back in Wrath, but what is wrong with having the RDF Option and also have it run alongside with LFD? Why can’t people have the options.
I understand some of the concerns from people who don’t want RFD, but honestly, what is stopping Blizzard from improving on it instead of gatekeeping on it. If people are upset that people are instantly teleporting to a dungeon, why not make it so then you got to either run to it, or you’re teleported to the meeting stone? If people have the fact that it is cross-realm instancing, why not make it realm only? And it continues on. Instead of removing it, Blizzard should’ve “improved” on it.
Yea that is not true at all. Wotlk had stagniated growth and the game started declining in cata go online and look at the growth in wotlk compared with tbc and vanillia.
also blizzard already said they are not doing wotlk identically and thry are leaving out QOL changes that effect community. At least you have retail for instant puggable content and people have a place for hardcore workd of warcraft
You cannot actually believe that RDF is what caused WoW’s decline. Not Cata’s destruction of the world, not Cata’s endgame, and so on. Just RDF. You have got to be kidding me.
