Can we just allow people to queue as 40 in AV?

So as I type this premade discords are lighting up with the new “workaround/exploit” depending on your perspective for premade-ing in Alterac Valley.

In theory I have no problem with premades; however, the practice severely breaks the equity of the gameplay experience in PVP - it’s designed to do so.

The major issues are:

  1. Horde queues for an hour only to get thumped in 7 minutes flat.

  2. Everyone not in a premade on the Alliance side is considered irrelevant. The issue with instances opening half full gone, but the fact remains that you shouldn’t be required to join a premade and get on discord to be competitive. Coupled with this is the trickle-down effect of premaders considering PUG players second class citizens; their games are perfectly fine to AFK in for an honour top up when you’re not premading OR filled with “scouts” for various premade groups who are only there to watch how long is left in the battle.

The solution:

Allow everyone to queue as full groups of 40 in AV and full groups of 10 for Warsong Gulch (50% of WSGs at the moment are total stompfarms of premades against floundering groups of people in level 60 blues) ------ HOWEVER ------ such groups could only be paired against other such groups (so – perhaps you don’t get queued in as a group of 40 unless there is a group of at least 30 for you to go up against. No more highly-organised machines steamrolling hapless rabble in a zerg to the end. People would have to FIGHT and compete again. Win traders would have to be quickly banned.

Then premades could either live or die based on whether people really want to queue as premades or simply want to exploit the system for an unfair advantage.

EDIT:

Before anyone comes in here about the community wanting #Nochanges and this driving people away back to Retail and so forth – The people concerned with this: the ones pushing for rank 11 or above, are by mathematical definition something like 1% of the population. I see a lot of preaching on about how the various honor mafias and premades and saturation of the ranking pools with low level alts is “for the good of the whole server”, but let’s face it, this is to help you and no one else. The whole system is downright Orwellian. If you go back to Retail, no one would miss you.

they already have that on Alliance side. why do we need more?

That’s one thing that is really concerning and disappointing. Most premaders consider pretty much anyone else scum and below them, whether they are on horde or alliance. Not dissimilar and reminiscent of retail arena ratings.

We were all warned this would happen. There were several posts about how the suggested fixes would not stop the pre-mades, just cause them to make adjustments.

Well they were right. While the Horde were all off singing, cheering, patting themselves on the back and telling the Alliance how salty they are, the pre-mades were hard at work fixing their system.

youre gonna get a lot of hate from this but I have no opinion on this subject

Even if they open up 40 man premades the horde will only be able to queue as 40 people on their server vs alliance can do it cross server, mainly due to queue times. The play pool and quality of player the alliance can choose from is 100 times more then the horde.

It would be interesting to see a 40 man min//max raid guild face a rank 12 premade.

The premaders are worse then the rated PVPers on Retail. At least you have to be skilled to get high ratings in Retail; the premades are only interested in stomping pugs.

Fixed that for you.

Also, no one was singing and congratulating themselves other than a few trolls on the forums. Most of us were cautiously pleased but grimly aware of the sort of determination serious rankers have to game the system and that any victory for common sense and fairness was likely to be short-lived.

Which is potentially a lot better than a Xrealm premade for various reasons.

Safe to say it’ll be dependent on the realm.
