And this is not only Herald, but standard Hpal gameplay.
While LS/AC is fun and decent enough, Herald and paladin standard gameplay needs some love.
Our spot healing feels off compared to most of the healers out there.
Other than playing AC we still lack the tools have a decent mana economy.
LS AC arguably can lack control of its healing and thats when Herald and LS with AW:M should come in, since this is actually supposed to be our core gameplay builds and intented playstyle (one example an user posted of recently: our current tier set).
I do love LS and AC but ignoring how the spec was designed to be played for TWW to begin with is a huge issue in my eyes.

Yeah I think it’s about time. I went back and played Herald in a key the other day and it’s actually so much fun. I don’t mind LS + AC either but the Hammer and Anvil randomness and the lack of control while in AC is somewhat frustrating.
I also think you’re right. They need to find a way to tune these two hero talents around their specialty. That will give both Hero talents a spot to shine and not just result in a clear BiS in all scenarios. Relative to LS, Herald’s specialty is control and the burst healing potential of beefy Wings.
I fear that LS is a bit of a tuning mess now though and Hearld will have a tough time competing while Hammer and Anvil is tuned as it is and while the LS + AC playstyle provides a largely mana efficient option.

I can literally do around 700k on my holy priest with halo, CoH and PoH. And nothing else. I feel like I am running an iron man contest to heal with my h paladin. Thats the entire reason I dropped that as my main this expansion. Its “fun” but its not what I want from my playstyle as a healer.
Editing to add my priest is under or around 600 ilvl. My paladin is 620.

Agree 100%. I just don’t like LS/AC gameplay, so I have taken the hit and stuck with Herald. This is okay, but it would be nice to get something back. As far as mana goes, I’ve hit a spot where I can manage ok for most encounters. I’ve seen rsham healers call for innovate early (which takes that off the table for me when I need it)… which I find interesting because I would have thought they were in a much better position.
