You read my post there that didn’t mention gear at all outside of the challenge where you take a fresh toon and equated my post to being about gear…
Sometimes I wonder why I even post.

So the game isn’t designed for alts, fresh characters, switching mains or the vast majority of people who play at keys +10 and under???
You start with no or little gear, then gain gear and when you get pieces that are appropriate you turn them into tier unless you get lucky and get a tier piece from a raid.
Could you drop a charge on a champion piece sure I suppose but anyone who wants to be running +10’s or change mythic gear it means it will take several weeks to get tier. And in fact that holds true for just about everyone every season. But lets even ignore that.
Every single expansion we have a season 1 where no one has gear and grinds out +10’s and then over the following weeks gets their tier pieces. The game is obviously designed for this to work.
Threat in SL S1 was amazing its why you could kite and continue to keep threat. In fact SL S1 is the reason we have the threat issues we have now, because they do not want high keys to be tanks kiting mobs. And I agree with that it was not fun to leap in gather threat run out of defensives then kite while throwing glaive on the loyal beast buffed bears in HoA. But things have swung to far in the other direction.
But again its not a single issue its a ton of small issues that all compound each other.
Is it an issue with every tank or every pull or every group? No, but I definitely wouldn’t say its not an issue 99% of the time unless you are not pugging and there for are playing with people who know your pull patterns are the same ilvl and skill. I would say that the delta is massive which is why I suggest taking an ungeared tank and pugging to +10. As you wont see just one issue you will see tons of them and have to try to learn to work around them.
I’ve given the reasons, examples and even linked several videos of content creators talking about it and even showed Dorki getting banned from the MDI for trying to solve the threat issue with a potion bug. I mean I don’t know what else to say when you have so many people who have openly talked about it that play far above either of our skill level.
