Can we have crafting materials drop from m+/raid/pvp more often?

Bots can’t do these activities (at as degree of difficulty) so can we put the big important materials for crafting in the big three. Still keep the world stuff obviously but if you want high ilvl gear you need to farm or buy the 3 star materials from +15, heroic raid, 1800+ rating or some other bench mark.

Nope - you already have patterns that only drop from those sources no need to cut off normal players from even making gear for themselves.

Add them to the loot tables? sure why not.
IDK if that will mess up chances at getting gear.
“oops you could have gotten this BiS Necklace but heres some dragonite ore instead”
also no removing anything from overworld

I think that would suck for the people who are neither botters nor raiders but do love crafting.

I would like to add that our cute druid population should get more crafting materials by virtue of being adorable lovaboos.

Just put this stuff on the vendor that takes merit tokens. Problem solved.

But, isn’t this already in-game?

You need to do certain content to get certain crests, which you use to create the enchanted dreaming crests (which raise the crafted item level range):

Bots have been capable of PvP for a long time. I knew someone that used one in Arenas back around Cata.

Patterns do not drop from m+. And honestly patterns are the worst thing you could have in m+ to drop.

Materials that aren’t bop. Things you can sell on the ah.

Bots wouldn’t be able to achieve high level of play in m+, pvp or raid though and thats kinda the point.

If anything at minimum gold should be earned more from M+/raids. There’s no reason a world quest should give more gold than clearing a dungeon or a raid. Having M+ gives 500 gold on clear or raids drop 300 gold when killing a boss would be better than nothing which is what we currently get.

Older raids also had special nodes for herbs or mining which they could easily bring back. Mechanicals were also being able to be salvaged for ressources. Just in Ulduar alone many concepts like that could be re-used.

Patterns drop from raids and PVP though and you mentioned those.

PvP and raids both have materials you can sell on the AH. I don’t do mythic plus so I can’t address anything that happens in that. Mythic plus is extremely heavily rewarded now anyway no need for more.

I don’t disagree with the idea but do the method.

I would love if cloth just fell slowly from the sky and folks needed to run around trying to catch it. Ohhh the anxiety of hurriedly chasing down something moving as 1/4 your speed. WHILE competing against other players for it. So much friction without friction.

Personally I think that professions should be their own activity, completly uncoupled from any other pillar.

I think getting materials would be a lot more interesting than just gold.

All you get is like 50-100g.

But… the purpose of professions is to service those pillars.

cool idea in theory, but now you have massive inflation from everyone who isn’t gathering and just gets their bags filled with stuff unless it’s so insignificant, why do it at all?

you want to stop bots, yet you make the problem they cause just worse with this idea, you’re basically just increasing supply / devalue gathering for real players

I do see what you are saying, but to my mind at least, I still feel they are separate activities.

People often overestimate how many players are running keys. The average is +10. So no it wouldn’t cause massive inflation.
