FFII did that one of the main characters died in the story and he transferred all of his knowledge and power to his granddaughter she basically became his replacement since she now possessed all of his ingame progress
Pandaria was pretty much that.
You were always that. You are a peon, BfA calls you a champion but none of us cares about you, and the ones that praise you, they want you to do their bidding
You mean FFV, by the true numbering. The real FFII didn’t get released in the US initially.
Yeah cus that’s the point of playing a video game: being the worthless capitalist grunt that your are in real life.
“Hey slave!, I need you to get 10 boar butts even though you have slain some of the mightiest beings in our world!”
Hey just reroll if you wanna feel like a peon.
Where did this sentiment come from? I agree that simply being lvl XXX shouldn’t make you a “champion” But listen kids; this is what we boomers call a “Epic campaign”
Except now it is, “Hey Champion! I know you just killed the literal titan of death, but I need 10 boar buts. Chop chop!”
Part of the reason I love Nathanos so much is that he doesn’t even pretend to be like all the other people kissing your boots.
But I am a Champion, just look at my title

Yeah but when it got ported over the actual chronological order its was really the fifth game in the series for japan but only the second actual US released game at that time since most of the japanese NES titles were never translated
You mean like a Janitor expansion? Where we’re all janitors, have to clean up after all the npc’s messes, monster messes, stuff like that?
I like being an infamous murder hobo.
There’s no going back to being a random nobody after that
I think there are ways to do so, personally. For example the whole “Shadowlands” concept could have us meeting a whole boat load of people who have neither a clue nor a care about who we are and what we did.
Bringing us to new places, like Draenor or Shadowlands, is a fresh canvas where no one knows us. It’s pretty easy for us to not be relevant to those people in the new worlds/dimensions/lands.
