…and I am reminded of Dragon Quest 3 and the Jester/Gadabout class, which kinda didn’t do anything right, but defaulted to a bunny suit on it’s sprite.
Oh, and could be promoted to a Sage for free which was magically speaking the most OP job.
Does that count as creepy?

Would clown be a subclass of bard? Maybe the other way around? 
Damn it, I was going to make this post.
What kinds of abilities would a clown class have? I mean, Shaco from League of Legends works pretty well, but he’s only got about four abilities: turn invisible and teleport a short distance, drop a jack-in-the-box turret, throw one of his knives, and create a controllable copy of himself.
If a clown class were made to revolve around knives…that’s rogues already.
…Though it’d be hilarious if one of their projectile or crowd-control abilities was throwing a pie.

Great idea! That would be hysterical, and we really NEED more levity in this game I could see the class going the way of The Joker - am I right? An evil clown?
How about Fart Bombs, and balloon animals that sail towards the target and explode on impact, I can see it being a leather-wearing caster class more than a melee class. Sort of a rogue with humor 
They could also introduce spells and abilities that represent the different expansions, that would be fun!

One of the class’ primary abilities should be Bungee Gum, which has both properties of rubber and gum. Its primary resource would be Nen.
OP we don’t need a clown class because you’re the entire circus.
Just slap some white paint and a red nose on a Goblin or Gnome and bam. Instaclown.
