I noticed that, probably when the warband system was implemented, the character screen shows a mail icon indicating mail. Maybe this has been around a long time, I rarely use the mail system or auction house.
It occurred to me that it’d be really nice to have a great vault icon in a similar location for those of us that can’t remember what character they unlocked slots on last week.

I’d like that and also the possibility of adding notes to characters on the login screen, editable always (and also editable in game on that character) for any reason.
If I get half way through some raid on a character and have to stop due to life, I can put a little note there reminding me to finish it.
I don’t think add-ons work on the character select screen but if that could be allowed so I can just do it myself, I’d be a huge fan of that too
Good thing you can stack multiple vaults, and they don’t expire. Just log into all your characters and check their vaults at your own convenience.
That would be super useful. I once forgot for several years to make the jeweled onyx panther, after I collected all the materials to make it. A note would have prevented that, and other things. Great idea!
That’s hilarious, I’m sure I’d do that too. I imagine some people would use the notes for professions, and especially unlocks. I’d have in some note the list of goals I have on a character, it would have on it “Draenor engineering thing daily -make gear spring parts” or “check Dalaran for the book that’s there for XYZ achievement” and a bunch of other stuff that has daily lockouts, and I’d be happy to do if I could remember that I wanted to do it.
I guess I could just make a txt file and have that open on a second monitor, I already have a lot of excel files for sims and my characters professions
Writing is amazing, now the only limit on my memory is “where did I write this”

It sounds really straightforward to put in an icon, they already wrote the conditionals to check if a character has a vault ready in the great vault tab of the group finder, it’ll say “your character has a great vault reward available” or something
So if that variable is true just add a GV icon next to their mail icon on character select
Nah, they backlog at least a few weeks as I’ve had up to 3 before.
I use a google sheet to keep up with all my wow stuff but I’d still appreciate an icon for vaults on the character select screen. Even tracking how many delves I run per character with that I still occasionally miss grabbing it on someone here and there.

Vaults do not expire until the next expansion launches.
Been hoping for this to be a thing ever since I discovered some of my alts were sitting on a bunch of vaults since I do TW on them and never remember to check their vaults. Always ez 3k gold for doing that.
I just opened up 5 weeks worth on multiple toons yesterday. If there is a limit I haven’t reached it and I’ve gone above 5 weeks in the past
But why do the common sense thing when we can have another popup/notification? 
I didn’t realize you could have multiple vaults stacked up. That’s pretty handy.
On the other hand, it seems like having a notification of some sort would be pretty useful. If you can have a notification for mail, you can have one for vault. Mail is typically much less important than a vault reward.
Enable addons on the character select screen, so players can implement all the improvements Blizz is too lazy to do. The main reason for its exclusion is long gone, it used to be the only place you could enable/disable addons per-character.
Not a pop up. OP wants an icon on character select screen like we have for mail.

I know people on here seem to hate addons. But they add convenience that Blizzard doesn’t. Get alterego, very light weight, shows the rewards for the week for all your characters in one simple click
I don’t see why they can’t add it to the buff/icons menu that be turned on or off.
Another weird thing is collecting stuff before it expires would be nice. Or “hey you still need x weekly for this toon; you’ve done 2/5 TWs etc”
I would love to know how many delves I have done and at what level in my vault slots .
Knowing how they do things, I doubt it would be another character select screen icon unless they redo how its setup.
It would most likely be a popup similar to “YOU HAVE UNSPENT PROFESSION POINTS!!!”… 
But, if you look on map where vault is and mouseover it, it tells you if you have something waiting.
Maybe they could just add it as a tip we all read while waiting for the game to load. Instead of “dont stand in fire” or “Being polite while in a group with others will get you invited back” (ya right) it could say “Go check the great vault!”
