Can we get some new mechanics?

I absolutely love delves, i love that its going to be a core part of the end game, but can we get a little creativity and variety? It feels like everything is the same:

Oh this boss summons carts, whats it do? Insta death

This boss summons mushrooms: insta death

This boss has a flamethrower: insta death

This delve has spores : insta death

This boss has rockets: insta death

this boss burrows: insta death

Combined with minions that can 2 shot you, it really feels like there is no creativity left. Instead of minions hitting like trucks, why don’t they do debuffs? or lower damage over time? or ramp up? Why not have interesting mechanics instead of turning everything into dark souls where oops you did one thing wrong, insta dead try again. Most classes have 25-30+ buttons now they can use, that’s plenty of abilities and utilities to keep things interesting, so why does everything just have to be boring bland instakill?

They often try new interesting mechanics and people hate them, move or die is the most popular. See for example all the vision madnesses

Mechanics typically aren’t punishing enough if they don’t insta kill you unless it’s just a ton of overlaps.

Only time I have died in a delve is when I got bugged out and stuck under water lol.

Do the overcharged delves coming next week change the boss mechanics or just the environmental stuff and the trash mobs?

There are plans now to add a boss that will no longer kill the player, instead you will be given a 100% damage debuff (including Brann).

Now imagine doing the bosses in Org that ‘steals your soul’ thing that you have to run to it to break the silence/pacification effect but you can only move in the direction a spinny hand is pointing and it only stops spinning while you are moving.

Would you rather be debuffed to the point that white damage hits like a truck, or just have the creature hit like a truck?

Sure can! Let’[s add a timer to delves! Lets start adding retire M+affix! It will make devles more fun!

Delves have more varied content then a dungeon. A dungeon is always a dungeon, you know eventually where everything is, but delves change the story around, make you do it in different ways for some of them.

I don’t see that happening to Dungeons except when it hits M+, and now even Delves have that.

I see a non-issue here

Oh, and your insta-death thing is bad hyperbole, yes standing in the way of a moving mining cart SHOULD hurt.

I agree. Let’s add bursting, grievous, quaking, storming, spiteful, and necrotic. Put them on a rotation of sorts.

It sounds like your reaction time isn’t great.

I will admit, the bosses in Horrific Visions Org were more fun than most of the delve bosses.

Nitpick: The flamethrower isn’t insta-death; I regularly heal my friends through it when they get trapped in a corridor.

In general, I agree with your assertion, especially regarding delves where they can’t rely on multiplayer mechanics.

This is solo content. All mechanics have to be able to be done by everyone.

Mechanics cant really be much other than “move”.
