Again, single-player games are that-a-way. You are not entitled to hinder gameplay for other players with your (lack of) ability.
Oh sure, there’s 100% some behind the scenes stuff in those interactions that I’m not going to air on the forums. But it doesn’t matter. Shouldn’t be able to use the API in that way.
If you really think that, then you have the power to opt-out.
But, because which of blizzard’s player characters you have a non-transferrable limited license to use is not something you have a reasonable expectation of privacy over, it’s on by default.
I have seen that escalate into FBI / Police involvement in this game

You’re claiming they need my information, and I am questioning: why.
If I do not sign up to your group: Why do they have to be able to still check me up?
If I do not want to be stalked: Why is the opportunity out there?
If I do not want any connection with anyone outside of who I choose to be in connection with: Why should people be able to look into me?

That is the cornerstone of everything. If they can’t do anything with the information, then there is no need to hide it.

They can see all my alts, they can see what I have and haven’t done, they can see when I went to do something, they can see patterns and if they are delusional and insane enough: They can use said information to harm you.

You have not explained how they would do that. Without there being a “how” there is no need to hide it.
