With this new change, can we either make the timer longer or get rid of it completely? I can currently get through and gather all 4 chests while waiting to kill Yorik, as well, but if we’re adding stuff like this, I’d like to see more rift caches and either more time on the timer or no timer at all.
A new weekly quest, “Lost Research”, will be available to characters at Tier 4 with the Archivists’ Codex or on alts with a Tier 4 character on the account. This new quest will direct players into the Korthian Rift and reward a large amount of Archivists’ Codex reputation and Cataloged Research.

15 minutes isnt long enough? Yorik spawns quickly and can be solo’d. As for the 4 caches they don’t take long to collect either. Not sure how this is a real issue.

I didn’t even know you could be in the rift in the Maw itself. LOL
I’m sure the majority(myself included) kill Yorik, grab the 4 caches and leave. 15 is not really long enough for the maw solo.
I suspect this weekly will require going to the rift several days to complete - will be interesting to see what the requirements are for the quest.

Most likely. But I’d like to see it more relevant, considering it’s the main way of earning Archivist rep. They can do that by adding more rift caches and either extending or deleting the timer.
They could also drastically increase the droprate on those “enter the rift anywhere” items, and/or put them on the Archivist vendor.

Just get the use-anywhere blue riftstones from Zovaal’s Cache. If your time runs out in the Maw, pop it and re-enter.
yea. those are great. I never have any because dragging that stupid cache at 50% run speed is tedious and boring 
i need to start doing it again, cause there is a toy. but man, it is not fun.
Did you actually read the request before making the elitist remark? They are adding a quest in the rift .
Given that getting the 4 current chests takes 5 minutes, I can’t imagine the new quest will take up more than the remaining 10.
There are… 3 rares, I think, up in the Maw portion of the Rift. One of them drops one of the rings needed for the golden hand mount.
There’s also a daily chest called Zovaal’s Vault which you have to slowly drag up to Ve’nari (which takes about 4-5 minutes, since you can’t cheese it with movement speed) to open, which can give you a couple toys and some “use anywhere” consumables that let you enter the Rift anywhere in the Maw/Korthia.

You’re forgetting two things. (1) The rare , which you might have to wait for. (2) you don’t know what the quest is and it could be something that takes longer than 5 minutes to get to/do. It would really suck to get 99 of the 100 things you have to get for a quest and then port out of the rift.
The request is not unreasonable at all.
