Going back through old screenshots I realized, through migrating from one hard drive to another that I’ve lost a tremendous amount of screenshots. So many memories I cannot seem to find which stinks cause they were fond times.
Now while mine may be gone I wondered if perhaps whenever we take a screenshot Blizzard saves these on a cloud? Is that doable? I lost mine but maybe if there is a cloud server which holds pics others won’t have to lose them.
There’s no way they hold onto screenshot data.
Are you sure that’s a good idea? stares at Moonguard, starts sweating
You can upload them to any cloud service of your choice.
I have over 10 thousand screenshots backed up on google drive. They go all the way back to wotlk.

Yea and silly me didn’t even think about this at all. Went from a old spin hard drive to an ssd, thought I had my pictures transferred over then, boom missing files.
This was more wishful thinking. As in if we push the printscreen button it sends a message to blizzard server to take a screenshot and store it on their end.
Dang, that sucks.
It would be cool if they set up a service like the steam cloud where you could upload your screenshots to battlenet. I don’t know that they ever will though.

I am sure they would… At least for a “small” monthly fee based on the amount of storage needed.
Or they could just do it for free like Steam
They could but I doubt they will. Blizzard is pro late stage consumerism.
Steam likes open source and Linux.
I was horrified decades ago when I had lost 99% of my original Nov 2004-Feb 2005 release days screenshots after uninstalling and reinstall WoW, since then I have kept two separate backups of my screenies. I have 550GB of TGA screenshots backed up, and I organize by month & year in separate folders.

I prefer to back them up myself. My caps-lock key takes one button screenshots, so I wind up with a lot of unintended screenshots from clumsy tab targetting.
