Kinda weird that WoW has been around for nearly 20 years and we still don’t have what 5 year old can buy at Walmart for 7 bucks.
Gotta pay $$ for stuff like that.
But we already do.
I have the same thoughts as you, but blizzards idea of a backpack tmog is locked behind 9 months of raf time
The Black Dragonscale Pack was a good start.
There’s mog reward backpack from Wrathion in Silithus and a generic looking backpack from Recruit a Friend. If you’re Nightfae covenant there’s a flower power looking backpack thing. If you subbed for 6 mos, there are 3 free baby Murloc backpacks. We have backpacks.
We need more, though.
It really was and i currently want the raf one. Then they just said nah. No clue why, not like itd be hard to just add a handful. Or if they wanted to get wild and make them profession tied to add cosmetics to sell. Feels like a missed opportunity for a few venues.
Said normal backpacks. Normal. The most basic versions of it. When u someone say BACKPACK in the wordt, you’re not thinking about murlocks in the nest attached to your back. You are thinking about something u were to school (or still wear idk) when u were a kid.
But alos, are u really trying to justify this? Like, for real? U really think Blizzard has done enough?
The recruit a friend pack is pretty normal looking. Even the Wrathion backpack is club kid normal. I mean, do you own either of those?
You can get a quiver from Sylvanas in Sanctum of Domination.
I got the black dragonscale pack from doing visions in BfA and it is pretty nice. But I prefer the more simple leather backpack from refer-a-friend. I wish there was a similar model you could acquire in-game.
Exactly. I odnt have any friends who play WoW. so my ONLY way to acquire the most basic looking item in the world is to spend like 150 bucks. That is not okay lmao
Like, why are people trying to justify that this okay? And also, why does it seem to be such an issue for some of you to have more options?
My belf hunter still mogs Thas’dorah precisely because it puts a quiver on her back…no raid drop required. Though since I finally (after farming for it since TBC) got Thoridal it’s always a toss-up between mogging it or the quiver.
But I DO agree more backpacks/quivers/ heck things like belts with potions or pouches on them would be great transmog items.
I got the Wrathion backpack by playing what was at the time current content. For me a backpack isn’t an essential mog, so I didn’t bother with the RAF pack. Just pointing out what’s readily available for the average player. I fail to see how exhibiting negative social behaviors would qualify as legitimately lobbying for more transmogrification options. The best way to go about making such a request is asking warcraft devs on twitter about it. They don’t read posts in GD or interact with people posting here.
Um…but it’s not. RAF pack is locked behind 150 bucks or having someone else play the game. And Wrathion AFAIK is locked behind visions grind. I played for last 2 months of BFA and didn’t even get close to getting though I got cloak to Rank 5. Oh and I played it like crazy. I got PF1/2 done in like 2 months by doing EVERY single WQ available, got full LFR gear on 4 toons and completed all major quest chains on like 6 toons.
So no, neither of those things are “readily” available.
Yep… really ruins the hunter immersion pulling arrows out of the nether.
For quivers it’s really hard to beat the one on Thas’dorah’s appearances which in itself is a problem especially, I suspect, for people who would rather something less gaudy and/or obviously elvish in design.
Until Cata the quiver backpacks actually showed on the model (even though wrath removed them from purchasable bags) and I think there were rumors for years that some of the blue and purple quivers still showed the model past that point. Basically if there was a bag slot that showed in your stuff (which could also be a nice time to include world models for nonsense like the gigantique or the city backpacks) and let you pick one of your bags as the visible one, it might be nice
Making it a cloak glam works, sort of, but like, why choose, the framework existed in vanilla to get both (and with glams now letting you split shoulder pieces I’m sure it could be possible)
Remember this?
It’s a real shame those were never implemented. Would have probably covered quivers and a lot more. Sadly it was planned during WoD and likely got the axe with the rest of the expansions cut content. Would love to see a return to the idea though.
Yah same for me as well. Sad it was scrapped. I also feel it would be cool to have more cosmetic options for arrows as well. You used to be able to buy frost arrows in wrath with an icy glow added to them when fired.
Would be nice to have arrow cosmetics also, as there are a couple of bows in the game that have fire and ice arrows, but it is pretty rare.
