Can we get EQ style mercenaries?

You know, computer AI you can hire for gold that can fill any of the roles in a dungeon.

I honestly figured this was coming in WoD with bodyguards but it never did. Sad :sob:

No. That’s dumb.

I would like to have that, but with soulbinds.

I would be glad to be doing quest and wq with draven, pelagos and marileth

Wow Mercs would be kinda cool. I’d prefer they act like a consumable and you purchase one till they “expire”.

Mercs were added to EQ due to the dwindling player base and lack of actual players to group with. WoW isn’t there yet. I’d actually argue that mercenaries made people LESS social in EQ… instead of inviting that fresh max lvl healer… I’d rather pop my merc healer. Don’t have to deal with them going afk or competing for item drops.

I would say mercs just helped people who wouldn’t multi box.

If we can’t multi box (for those that actually multi boxed, not the AH or PvP warriors) Mercs would serve the same function…

Have you…played with those mercenaries?

Super buggy and very inadequate at current content lol

Not at current content.

But I figured Blizzard could put that famous Blizzard polish on it and have it work well. I mean they probably have more caterers at Blizzard than Daybreak (or whatever it’s new name is) does overall

Don’t get me wrong, with mercenaries being available, I had 3 different set ups using mercs to fill in the missing slots.

It was great. Solo’ing T2 content and missions by yourself. But I quickly learned that you use your own tanks and your own healers lol

Only use them to fill slots after players leave losing battle grounds. Almost no one wants to join a losing team halfway done.
