Title. I’d like to stay in my current guild (not on an RP server) and swap over to an RP realm. However, I’m concerned with this becoming a hassle since it doesn’t appear as though things can be mailed between servers. Not sure why this restriction exists, seeing as though we can trade while in an instance together.

Put it in your warbank on one character and retrieve it on the other

Seems like warband banks eliminate this complaint?
i feel like i’m missing something here.
once upon a time, guilds could only be between connected realms.
is this no longer the case?

With TWW prepatch, we can now have cross-realm guilds!

And while Cross-Realm guilds are indeed a thing now, some things are still kind of buggy. There’s no cross-realm guild bank (only those on the host realm can access it until a later update) so things like passing around Vantus runes in a cross-realm raid group would still be done manually for the off-server people.
It must be a purely technical reason why mail can’t be sent cross-server since everything I assumed they didn’t want to be possible is possible now with the warbank? Or is it a case of “finite number of hands, near-infinite number of spinning plates”?
I’m going to try avoiding mailing myself stuff in TWW, but there are some reflexes I’ll have to untrain.
Guilds are now fully cross realm and cross faction. I’ve got some of my Moon Guard characters in my Sentinels guild.

No nobody cares about this. These restraints are silly now that we have server groups. The economy is already screwed and Warbands eliminate most other restraints. If you wanted to save this aspect of the game you’d have to go back in time quite a ways

I was simply stating that people on this forum are so quick to cry about any potential positive changes to the game, claiming it will damage the game or outright kill it.
I’m all for more QoL changes and restrictions being lifted, more options is generally better.

And that also means guildies from other realms can send work orders cross-server. I just smith’d up a couple armor pieces for my friends toon in Burning Blade, who’s in my little guild. I’m on emerald dream

If I may, how did you invite someone from the other realm? I tried to send an invite to one of my WrA horde characters from my Moon Guard alliance guild and it told me “that character doesn’t exist”. I used the charname-servername formula.
I also tried to send a personal work order the same way and recieved the same error.
Cross faction is still a pain in the butt. You need to do it through a community or through being Bnet friends or by being the same faction.
