Can we get Bonus Rolls back?

I don’t mind the Great Vault. I think it’s better than the old Bonus Roll system, but I think both can exist if there was a way to buy Bonus Rolls with Tokens of Merit. Price the bonus rolls at 2 tokens a piece, so a max of 3 a week if you completed a whole content row (unlocking 3 options) in the vault. I only need to buy so many gem sockets.

Allowing us to focus in on “farming” a boss for a specific piece of loot is in line with allowing more deterministic ways to make progress towards our character goals, no?

Why, its just another gacha layer to a problem with a better solution… They were once called badges of justice. They let you buy gear with currency from that same content in case RNG continues to poo on you.

I don’t recall badge vendors ever offering gear from specific content, just gear that was sort of on par. Even now, we’d need a badge vendor for each difficulty (LFR/Normal/Heroic/Mythic).

Definitely would be nice. It’s very annoying to keep failing the RNG, especially if after a specific slot or transmog piece

Instead of bonus roll what if we could use tokens of merit to buy extra picks, so have a full vault and bad week take the tokens, next week multiple good choices buy extra. Just have the cost scale for each extra option picked in a week.

What if we had bonus rolls and Dragonforged Loot. Amazing!

Badge vendors in WotLK gave 10-man normal Tier pieces, 2 slots.

People hated bonus rolls.

Yeah and people hate vaults with no rewards.

Bonus rolls got removed because people hated it so much in BFA

It’s one of the other stop wishy washy things

This all sounds gimmicky… spin the wheel and see what you win!

People hate opening up their vault and seeing zero upgrades too and you know what they did? They added Tokens of Merit, which is something at least, but even those stop being useful.

I’ve been saying since Shadowlands beta that taking a system designed for M+ (vault) and forcing it on raiding was a colossal mistake.

But putting something that was terrible in its place isn’t the solution.

They need to double the number of raid drops. And that’s double BfA levels, not double the nerfed Shadowlands levels.

Raiding is so unrewarding these days, it’s absurd. Especially since it’s way harder and takes way more time than anything else in the game.

That doesn’t give the player a way to focus in on a specific upgrade (deterministic loot) nor does it give you anything to do with a great vault that offers you no upgrades.

I suspect raiding will be easier in DF. In an interview with Towelliee, Ion mentioned that the reason raids had been tuned the way they were was to present a challenge to RWF guilds, but that ended up being a detriment to everyone else which how we ended up with Sepulcher being the raid that has had the most nerfs ever.

Vault at least let’s me get Transmog and guaranteed stuff.

Bonus rolls was gold and Azerite, allegedly you could get actual loot with them (half-joking there) and the stuff you really wanted like mounts was specifically excluded from them.

How could anyone hate getting disappointed twice on the same boss?

I’m not calling to replace the vault with bonus rolls. I’m calling to supplement it. To be able to buy bonus rolls with the 3 tokens of merit we can pick.

this right here, and the cost was maybe an hour a week in fast painless dungeons

or just increase drop rates and make gear more targetable from the bosses by making the loot lists smaller

asking for more slot machines on top of slot machines is never a great answer, that is just normalizing predatory design intended to waste player time for no increase in dopamine

I can count on one hand the amount of times bonus rolls gave me loot.

They need to increase drop rates or return badges.
