I mean there’s literally a dude saying the worgen are black representation but sure, nothing racist at all in this thread.
Ah yes… a vague inference to someone, somewhere, making an… umm… not even sure what you’re trying to imply but okay… is definitely proof of W H I T E
S U P R E M A C Y
This must be one of them fancy dog whistles I hear people talk about.
…this thread reminds me of the divide and conquer tactics used by those who wish to divide us…
IXXI
racisim…don’t believe the hype
It’s literally a direct reference to an overtly racist meme bro.
and it makes sense that they do because their ancestors are dark blue, purple and green. some are a charcoal grey
the idea that a race is cursed? but usually its european males cursed with werewolf since some other races dont have body hair. when was the last time you saw africans with body hair other than on their heads? environment didnt require a built-in hair blanket, only folks from colder climates
I’ve seen racist comments from the OP and others and I’ve seen a couple racist trolls comparing “Black representation” to both Orcs and Worgen, but I haven’t seen any white supremacist statements or positions in this thread yet.
you should try finishing reading sentences before responding tothem.
You know, just give it to them. Most likely they won’t even use it, but it shuts them up, and, ultimately dosen’t matter. My thought is if you want to play a dark skinned elf go play a night elf. Can’t you get a shader mod to make your skintone darker? They have mods for literally anything else.
For those screaming about lore. I love lore. I love stories. I play elves in every game because elves are awsome. I have played this particular elf sience day one of the original burning crusade. Adventurers are supposed to be the one off, so to speak. The special ones of their people. While a darker skinned elf may not be the norm, it is possable. I would consider it a bit of a genetic abnormality like eleven fingers.
Ultimately this is not a battle worth waging. Is this hill really the one you are ready to die on with all of the other mess in the game? Unless you play this on a rp server, this shouldn’t really be a concern.
my thoughts also. its really simple. doesnt effect the game mechanically. visually is a lore call back to dark trolls and highborne
so if you’re gonna give blood elves dark skin just give it to all races then.
Umm… oh okay I guess? I mean you didn’t even link the supposed vile joke in question so I’ll just assume you hear whistles no one else can…
Right? Beats me what the supposed “racist” joke is when the Worgen are all just your garden variety European lore monsters and they lean in all the way with the Werewolf in London trope in Cataclysm.
/shrug
I don’t get Worgen, as noted above, but Orcs I can understand somewhat if you’re trying to link it to some kind of barbarian/tribal race… but the Orcish themes are all a hodgepodge of a lot of different tribal cultures so while there are definitely some black people whose origins might sync somewhat, Orcs are just too much of an amalgam to be anything in particular.
Trolls are similar but at least have some noted inspirations with them being basically Central/South America meets Pacific Islander.
Tauren are even more directly inspired by Native Americans, but again, no specific tribe over another.
/shrug
That’s how races of all kinds are typically represented in fantasy settings. Humans are typically monoculture of one kind or another, and any other cultures are represented by some humanoid race with one or more known cultural high points accentuated to the extreme. It isn’t malicious in the slightest.
Its more one-dimensional than that. The worgen comparison is simply the comparison to dogs with black fur. No lore based perspective or even a perspective where they can change to normal humans, its a one-dimensional perspective. That’s why its a troll.
And yeah similar comparisons regarding tribalism can be made with every race in some way.
why aren’t people asking for black orcs, trolls, undead, or gnomes?
Are Black Goblins possible in retail? Are White Goblins possible in retail?
I wanna know how idiotic and insane this illogical situation gets.
tl;dr the op is black irl, likes blood elves, wants to play a black belf in tbcc because they can’t play a character that doesn’t look like them for some reason
i’m pretty sure no one really looks like their character irl lol, except for humans. it’s a fantasy game, and you have retail for customization options already.
grats tho, your thread got lots of attention, thats probably what you wanted in the first place
I’m blue smile
Looks at a random Gnome
No but yes.
Using this logic, Night Elves are just dark Blood Elves.
That’s… silly. Which race is blue or sickly sea green?
