The funny thing is even with kara dropping badges it wouldn’t get you your set, you would still need to run heroics to get the rest of your badges. If your guild isn’t helping you on that then I truly feel sorry for you but as a tank I could get 100 badges from pugging in like 3 or 4 nights of casual play ez.
I don’t get the need for resilience gear either, people tanked those fire elementals back in the day with less. Just because your uber meta cheat sheet says its required doesn’t mean you need it.

Yeah, Kara was what? 22 badges?
IMO, knock out the daily each day, and maybe Mech.
Is the whole set needed? Seems like this could be done in a week…
What makes this complaint worse is they have to be at least T5 geared at this point. You could practically alt tab and run heroics as a tank with that gear level. I hope they are playing a druid or something.

Don’t Tank then. If you have to Tank for your guild then get your guild to help you with heroics.
Also … you’re a Tank. shouldn’t have any difficulty running back to back heroics for the badges. Though you feel that tanking is “punishment” so refer to my initial point.
If Kara dropped badges no-one would have any reason to do heroic dungeons - barring attunements. It’s too soon. When ZA comes out there will be enough non gated raid content for fresh players to keep them occupied such that Heroic dungeons aren’t needed. But now if Kara dropped badges that’s all any fresh 70’s would be doing - Kara once a week… A couple of ungated raids across multiple gear tiers is the right time to make the change, not now.

I’m FR capped and Crit capped with no resiliance and only pants from badges. Sure it’s optimal to have all that badge stuff and putting in 10’s of hours into pvp but in no way is it required.

This isn’t true. Kara has a week-long lockout. The sweatiness these days should ensure that there’s at least some interest in heroics. If someone levels an alt, they really want to gear that alt.
Since were talking about this fight does it make sense for a melee class to have a fire resistance set for this fight as well or waste of DPS? I have a 186 set for farming fire elementals.
only if you love demon phase and want to make it as long as possible, where you can further grief your raid because you can’t dps

Melee shouldnt need to stand in fire other than maybe a tick or 2 to get away from an eyebeam (Unless you’re helping your healers parse). You could get a few more pieces for your set in case your tank has to step out one raid night, which is always nice.
This is reason #1 why parses are garbage.

Uh. People are already ignoring Heroics because they aren’t really worth the effort now.
They might do the daily and then that’s it.
I don’t think people realize you were suppose to go: Normals → Kara/Gruul/Mag → Heroics → SSC/TK → Hyjal/BT, for gearing.
Most farmed their pre-raid BiS badge gear with in a few weeks of hitting 70. Using very specialized guild groups with optimal CC so they could power through content they weren’t really suppose to be able to do. Then they steamrolled through Kara/Gruul/Mag.
