I was a Diablo player before wow. A friend bought me vanilla back in the day and I left it unopened for 6months. It looked a touch cartoony for my liking and I was well into fighting Diablo and Baal.
So after I played enough hell runs and got my edge lord fix I tried WoW. Well the rest is history. Everything I wanted from Diablo wow was offering, just the visuals
Now I know this game has its business model and it’s set in stone but SOMEWHERE in the game can we start getting some Christopher Nolan Batman’s trilogy treatment and go super dark and thriller.
A quick example would be a zone that has reduced vision range, character surrounded by dense fog with shadowy figures running around your character making screech/banshee noises etc. just go full horror theme on a zone. Please! There is too much fluffy happy nature going on. Life is about balance so where’s the dark theme stuff at

gestures vaguely at all of Maldraxxus
Also, we’re going to Deathwing’s personal laboratory* next patch so I imagine all of the BWL-style Mad Science gothic horror you could want will be there.
Yw ya that way you don’t have to slog through watching it cause… well even though the story plot is dark it’s still what… a 2 hour long movie? I think? It was pretty lengthy.
Nah I enjoy Disneyflight far more that all gray dull stuff like Shadowlands and good news everyone, D4 is in full swing so that maybe more to your thing.
Well… there was a questline where you were captured, buried alive in a pile of bodies, freed a bunch of maimed Kyrians, and ended up fighting a construct made out of their dead allies sewn together, so uh…
Yes, they did.
Actually, I would say it’s considerably darker. They said Thaddius was stitched together from innocents but they didn’t show you what was left of them afterwards!
Totally separate point, I really enjoyed the Arathi Basin Freeze. The limited visibility was rather fun and you couldn’t target beyond your vision. They need more of that.
