Can we get an update on X-45 Heartbreaker drop rate change?

Last year, we got a Blue post about changing the X-45 Heartbreaker (A.K.A the Big Love Rocket) drop rate because it wasn’t fun but that unfortunately it wouldn’t be ready for that event. It’s coming up again soon and it would be really good if we could get an answer as to whether the drop rate has been tweaked. Many of us spend a LOT of time farming this mount each year, and knowing whether the drop rate has been changed at all will probably change how we prepare for the event.

Personally, this will affect me a fair bit because it will mean I will level ~17 toons from Level 50 to Level 60 in order to participate, but if the drop rate is still 1 in 3,333 then honestly I’ll just use what level 60s I have now.

Anyway, it’d be super awesome to get a Blue response to this - even if it’s in negative (although that would be painful) - since many of us in the mount hunting community have been discussing this potential change for the entire year and honestly I wasn’t expecting them to truly change it but the change to the World Boss mount rates gave me new hope.

Any information would be awesome, Blues.

Should drop at the Headless Horseman rate. That still makes it very rare but it doesn’t feel impossible like the Love Rocket does now.

Watch for it on the Trading Post.

It’s not even 0.1% right now, to put things into perspective.

It’s 1/3333. That’s less than a third of that.

Where are you getting this? Please tell me it is not wowhead.

It’s not Wowhead. The droprate’s been known to be a ludicrous 1/3333 for over a decade now.

This is the correct term.

What’s an “X-45 Heartbreaker”? Is that a hunter weapon?

Wowhead: Big Love Rocket Attained by 3% of profiles

Not exactly 1/3333 - apparently it’s not as rare as you think. But rare mounts will be rare. I wish you the best of luck this season because if the Big Love Rocket drops for you, you’ll know how lucky you were and you’ll enjoy it all the more.

Trading Post with this item immediately. Need to put an end to players thinking they are special because of a 0.1 mount.

1 in 3,333 is the chance for a drop in any individual run. If you’ve been running for several years, you will have had a reasonably decent chance to have got it. Not great, obviously, but possible.

It’s like Invincible is a 1 in 100 drop but has been obtained by nearly 20% of profiles. Also, Wowhead data isn’t always a great sample because the people who are more likely to have downloaded the Wowhead data client and sent their information to Wowhead are likely to be the more dedicated and long-term players.

Also, drop rate will never perfectly mirror acquisition rate. But even so, regardless of the exact numbers, it’s bloody rare. Easily as rare as the Panda World Boss mounts were, and they were farmable every single week of the year.

From anecdotal experience, this will be my 6th year of running it every day of the event with a minimum of 10 toons and I’ve never seen it drop in a group I was in, although I have heard of 2 dropping for friends in that time. That’s ~140 runs each year, with 5 people in each group. Obviously not EVERYONE is opening it as soon as it hits their bags but still. My point is, it’s rare and Blizzard said they thought it was too rare and would change it. I’m hoping to get some kind of statement on whether this is still the intention <3

if blizzard continues with the name “X-45 HEARTBREAKER” then they need to lower the drop rate even more.

if blizzard increases the drop rate we the players demand that its name be returned to its non-offensive form of “BIG LOVE ROCKET”

oh my this world is done for.

They said they were going to look into it, but no changes were confirmed iirc.

I believe the exact wording was “if we are going to do something, it won’t be in time for this year (2022)”

If it was common, you wouldn’t want it. The very fact that it’s so rare increases it’s value to a player. Why? Because people like to have something about their character that is unique. If you turn rare items into common ones, you destroy their value. There are quite a few other rocket mounts out there few of which you ever see anyone riding, and that’s because they’re fairly common.

So my stance is this: I truly wish everyone the best of luck farming the Big Love Rocket this year because when you finally get something that’s this rare its pretty fun. But do I hope they increase the drop rate? Nope. If they do that then it becomes just another ordinary mount grind and we have plenty of those already.

There’s just no way. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Such a low drop rate to ride a pink phallic mount.

I think you mean “the Big Love Rocket (A.K.A. some random crap name that no one calls this mount by)”.

FYI: Wowhead stats are to be taken with a grain of salt. They’re pretty much completely reliant on people uploading their collections either manually or via their data scraper add-on. The vast majority of people will never do this. Which means whatever stat you quote from Wowhead is actually probably a lot lower in the actual game population.

Regardless, 3% is pretty low for a well sought after and very old mount. Both factors would typically put such a cosmetic in the 10-15% range of Wowhead profiles. To put it in perspective, Invincible is obtained by 19% of profiles.

It’s against the forum rules to request a blue statement, just saying.
