Can we get an option to keep the current Resto animations?

I’d love to see an option to keep the current Restoration Druid animations that are changing in 11.2. I think the new ones look great, but the butterflies arent my vibe, I like the leaves and tbh I don’t think they look outdated. I also just prefer the current shade of green, and I really dont want to have green hands while casting Tranquility, its a moon-themed spell and the new green hands look out of place with the rest of the spell effects. Theyre not too different, so can we get a glyph or npc to talk to or something that lets us keep the current animations?

i agree…while i’m happy some people do vibe with the butterflies…they’re killing my nostalgia by removing my ribbons on rejuv…

i don’t mind the butterflies for some of the newer spells like wild growth…but can I just keep my rejuv?

Tranquility should be more like the warcraft 3 version…a healing rain should really look beautiful and emerald dreamy…not…whatever it is we have now…where’s the class fantasy in that?

I also think the older versions of Efflorescence are better than the current (the flavor currently in SoD for those wondering). Would much rather have had that older one touched up, and kept the forest sprites/faeries and colors than the boring green thing.

I thought Gurgthock was a class fantasy guy! c’mon now!

That would be nice, but historically when they change stuff like that they do not let you keep the old version.

Just a heads up for ya.

I still wish we had the version of Wrath from vanilla (green ball instead of yellow).

You’re right…I don’t like that very much…I would have kept my original cheetah travel form, just for nostalgia if I could…but they completely removed it for some reason.

Oh well, at least I have my xmas colored raptor-cat thingie now.

I don’t know why everything needed butterflies.

Warriors made a massive stink about the new Colossus smash animation and had it changed. Maybe druids could do the same?

I need a glyph for wildgrowth to put it back on launch; the animation looks so janky without the hand vines; its still using the reworked entangling roots animation, just with half of it cut out and its real incongruent.

Rejuv was really old so i can see why they wanted to change it, but the animation cutting of so early looks super cheap.

The rest of the animation changes are just the butterflies, paint stroke (that I’m sure are suppose to be petals but don’t convey that at all) and lime green glow on the hands. To me that looks so bad compared to the nice autumn colors and oak leaves of the older ones, and run a little to close to the few earth spells resto shaman’s have with the pink flowers.

The butterfly hands would be cool if they were just on Cenarion ward since its already got a similar floral affect when triggered, flourish with its flowers spawned around us on use, and adaptive swarm if we still had a way to trigger them to give us 1 other bug summoning ability, matching the butterflies.
And the trigger affect on our targets would be good on efflorescence, since theyre standing in a giant flower, attracting pollinators and being dowsed in petals would make sense.

The rest of it is making me jealous of our treants since they get to keep the nice oak leave deep green casts on their swiftmend and nourish and watching them side by side is so disappointing.

I’ve been wanting green wrath back for years. It’s supposed to be the wrath of NATURE, not a ball of pee!

Well at some point they added onto the lore, it used to just be nature/moon themed and now it is solar/lunar themed. Then they changed the ball to yellow to match with the solar theme.

I still prefer the more nature theme, though.

I get the reasoning, I just don’t prefer it. Balance used to have the flavor of “earth and sky”, now it’s sun and moon. It would be nice if balance could get a little green back

I miss the original sound for it too.

Was willing to give the ol’…new rejuvenation animation a chance today…it’s significantly worse than the ribbons…i feel like the graphic is 2x shorter?

what was even the point if we can’t enjoy the butterflies for a second or two longer?

can i get the option for my ribbons back too if I want them please? I like the butterfly animations, but I don’t think it fits rejuv…I think it would do better for something like efflorescence or a channeled spell like tranquility, which is supposed to be visually pleasing…well in warcraft 3 and early days of WoW it was…a powerful healing rain should look really cool in 2025 if you ask me, not just blank…at least make the bubbles more pronounced or something…c’mon art team, you can DEFINITELY do better than this.

It’s yellow because it’s the power of the sun, not pee lol.

Sunfire and wrath represent the sun, and Lunar Strike and Moongite represent the moon. Starsurge and Starfire represent the stars.

It is the sun moon and the stars.

Classes are based off dungeons and dragons.

Feral and Guardian were originally one spec, based off the Circle of moon druids in n dnd. Moon druids focused on wild shape and had more powerful animal forms.

Restoration is based off of Circle of Dreams and Land, which focus on dream magic to heal, and nature magic.

Balance is based off of the circle of stars, which uses the power of the sun moon and stars and can use their wild shape ability to take on different constellations, which is where the glyph of starry form takes inspiration from.

If anything id like to see more cosmetic starry forms added and really double down on the fantasy.

I’m not sure what channels Warriors used to get their cries heard. But Oracle Priest has had the permanent gold/yellow eyeglow and forehead symbol ALL EXPANSION with no way to disable it. I really wish there was consistency between how they handle player choice.

They just changed the guardian shapeshift sound in this patch and I hate sounding like a goblin exploding munitions every time I shift. Change for the sake of change makes no sense.

I’m sorry, but that’s pretty much completely made up. Druid Circles are a conceit of 5th edition D&D, which postdates World of Warcraft by a decade, and Warcraft in general by much longer. Even the glyph of stars is older than 5e. I would wager that the Circle of Stars druid in 5e is inspired by WoW, rather than the other way around.

I’m aware of what the current flavor of balance druid is intended to be. But I’ve also played since vanilla, and engaged with other materials like the WoW TCG, which had such cards as Earth and Sky, Earth and Moon, and Wild Harmony, which referenced the old flavor of balance maintaining harmony between the life below and the stars above. It’s a personal preference, but that’s something I always found far more compelling and complex than going all in on the celestial theme.

I hadn’t noticed that yet. I’ll check next time I log in.

I felt this way when they changed the sounds for cat for attacks. I miss the old ones.
