You are assuming that Person A has only Person B on ignore. What if you have multiple people on ignore, how are you to know which alt is which? What you are complaining about is a fallacious argument.
Do you think that you are that important for some one to worry about what alt you are posting on? You might want to deflate that ego. You like most people on these forums are nobodies and not worth the time or energy.

see? all the person would need to do is remove all other forum users from their ignore list (assuming that they did actually have other people on their ignore list to start).

Nice cherry picking. Like I said you and most people are nobodies and are not worth the effort and not that important to know what your alts are. What will help is if I ignore this character, I will not have to see anything from your other characters too as you like to sockpuppet and toon hop to avoid being ignored.
Then they would have to look through millions of posts, in tens of thousands of topics, constantly un-ignoring and re-ignoring the same character, hoping to find even a single post that disappears and reappears on cue.

Yeah, people place you on ignore with Khrog, you switched to a new toon to bypass ignores. People put that on ignore, you repeat the same process. Only you find the current system perfect because you like to bypass everyone’s ignore list Khrog.
You know what happens when you continue to bypass peoples ignores to continue following the same people in the same thread to troll the threads? You breach 2 rules of the forum Code of Conduct.

Harassment takes many forms, and is not necessarily limited to the type of language used, but the intent. Repeatedly targeting a specific player with harassment can lead to more severe action. The idea behind this is to prevent any one player from consistently being uncomfortable in the forums.
Spamming or Trolling
This category includes:
- Excessively communicating the same phrase, similar phrases, or pure gibberish
- Creating threads for the sole purpose of causing unrest on the forums
- Causing disturbances in forum threads, such as picking fights, making off topic posts that ruin the thread, insulting other posters
- Making non-constructive posts
- Abusing the Reported Post feature by sending false alarms or nonsensical messages
- Numbering a thread, IBTL, TLDR, or any other fad statements
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, they will:
- Be given a temporary or permanent ban from the forums, depending upon severity
Lets start with this. You bypass the ignores to reply to the same people who originally put you on ignore, especially within the similar or same topics. That is harassment.
Then you continue with nonsense such as “Vrek said this to shut people up”, or “the current system works fine”. That is trolling.

Swap to a character youve never posted on. Clean block list. Ignore the character in question, search for “hidden reply”.
I tried it last night. Its wonky a bit, but doable.
When I searched for hidden replies, people on my ignore list absolutely were listed…but not all of them, which was odd.
His view is that with the account block, ALL of his alts now show the ‘‘hidden reply’’ thing so you could now see them all.
Theoretically, you could block JoePoster, do an ENTIRE forum wide search and get all of the characters on that account on the “hidden reply” search results. Well, for his characters that have posted here, that is.
A two way blackout block would remedy that.
or just removing the ‘‘hidden reply’’ note entirely.
Go back up and see who posted the first combative post here. It always the same thing. We were having a civil, productive exchange prior to that.

His concern has merit, but I dont think its going to be the issue that he believes because IF theyre making changes here to stop harassment, removing that ‘hidden reply’ thing would likely be one of those changes. It doesnt need to be there in the first place. If we’ve blocked someone STOP pushing their posts in our faces, lol

on that particular point he is spot on.
I have had some of the btag group literally follow me out into other threads to harass, insult, name call, etc when theyve realized who my alts were. It happens. There is no ego to it. Its on the person trolling.
Maybe its someone who is goading, trying to get his target “to get them to cross the line” so they can start banging the flag, who knows.
Ironically ive noticed a trend in here where THIS thread is ABOUT stopping bad behaviors, then you dont seem to think that bad behavior exists when someone else is questioning some of it or pointing it out, lol.
Its comes down to if the forum does make changes are they going to make it so thats no longer possible

Still don’t see the issue with account wide ignores. It’s a system that almost everywhere else has. Claiming that the current system is “perfectly fine” is a lie.
If people can easily get around the system and ignore it (lol) then it is not “perfectly fine”. This topic alone is a fine example of the system not working. To many troll alts running amok.
I have about 100 “people” on ignore, and there’s no way I’d notice if multiple “people” were muted at the same time. Well, I guess if a small thread were a puppet show I might.

Regardless of the claims, this forum ISNT that bad and we all know it.
I agree, account wide blocks so i can block ALL of your alts in one click, and remove that ‘hidden reply’ as well. if ive blocked you, I dont want your posts still sitting there to look at.
Not sure who thought that was a good idea. lol
Just because you make this sort of claim, doesn’t make it a fact.

no, going to any of hundreds of other forums and social media and comparing the Hate Rate to this forum makes it fact.
Nobody is comparing the WoW Forums to other forums or social media. And what on earth is a “hate rate”?
