You can do that now with pets on their profiles.
And the thing is, if I don’t want to talk to someone, I don’t want to talk to someone.
They swap to all their alts ok if it is completely hidden not just a “hide hidden” and you can click on it to read it like no you see nothing in the chat zip nada. It needs to be that level. Like why have an ignore function yet you can click on it and see what they said?
Or quotes if someone quotes the person. It shows what they said in quotes too.

i explain how people can find alts with account wide ignore, very succinctly and clearly and they keep just telling me im wrong even though i am completely correct.

Not one person posts on all
60 retail, 50 base Classic and 50 WoLK Classic.
Unless all they do is sockpuppet and troll the forums all day and night. It’s an unhealthy lifestyle to put that much effort into a gaming forum.
But still, ignores should never be bypassable to continuously harass and fight.
Some people are machotistic and we should be able to take care of those kind ourselves without mods stepping in all the time.
I bet mods get a lot email complaints from people each day, the account wide ignore will fix that.
In game has account wide ignore.

you are disregarding the fact that people can use the account wide ignore maliciously to find alts.
its not simply going to be used by people who want to ignore others
They can only find alts if they see the names in order to click open the profiles. Right now, if I put you on forum ignore, I can click the “ignored” open it and then go to your profile and check pets etc.
What I’m saying is if account wide ignore was implemented, someone can’t see someone else period. Like their names aren’t in the chat no “ignored content” nothing. If they are on ignore, they do not exist.
And why go through someone’s alts? That’s the key thing I keep seeing is “my alts my alts” but… for what reason? If they harrass a person in game slap on ignore and if they whisper again slap on ignore and put in a gm ticket.
Essentially I’m trying to find some kind of middle ground here. Like if I want to ignore someone, I’m going to ignore em and not beat around the bush. Also maybe add something to where if I do ignore someone I can’t remove them for a week.
That way someone can’t add and remove add and remove w/e and that would solve part of the situation you’re speaking of.

And don’t forget about how if the accounts get unfragmented the forum gremlins will come and slow down your SSD speeds!
thats not how ignores work on the forums… if you ignore someone, you see a hidden message, u can click it, open it up and see the name of the person you have ignored.
this doesn’t answer the question when people use account wide ignore to maliciously find alts.

i mean basically you are telling me:
yes you can use the account wide ignore feature to find alts but we dont care.
It’s called Ignore system lite. Our ignore is actually super laughable. Since the system let people get around it so easily.
