That’s fine and I have said in the past there should be a char/ server and an account wide ignore option.
Why would a person want to deal with a person they have on account wide ignore on any of their toons?
Right, because of the problems that would be solved by account wide ignore.
So what you’re arguing is that we can’t fix the system because of the problems that only exist because of the problem we’re asking to be fixed.

so you are telling me that if a person is being harrassed on the forums, then they are never allowed to switch toons?
what if the person’s main is a warlock but they have a hunter alt and want to post on the hunter forums for a question?
then that person is instantly punished because the harrasser found their hunter alt…
It seems more like you’re saying someone should never be able to keep one posting character if they want to because it’s more important that people be allowed to harass others by alt hopping to bypass ignores.

It’s an ignore, not a block. The point is that it only hides the person you’re ignoring’s posts, and doesn’t restrict any other persons ability to post.
no, your misunderstanding me.
the person being harrassed, in your scenario, is 100% prevented from ever switching to an alt on the forums under the account wide ignore system.
if the harrasssed person ever switches to an alt for any reason, their harrasser will find the alt.
nothing stops the person from simply ignoring the new alt if that were the case.
and that is under the current system… this functions perfectly as is
I wish they add a block function.

And it’s not like there’s not plenty of easier ways to currently do that than what you suggested if we go to account wide.

Notice how they keep using the same argument that the solution would cause the problem that already is happening and that we are wanting fixed .
Anti logic : If a system is put in place can prevent trouble but affects my ability to cause saidtrouble then I must constantly repeat that the system to prevent the trouble i cause will actually be the cause of the trouble.

actually no there aren’t easier ways to find alts… someone has the option of hiding their alts from third party websites by checking the “display only character achievements” box.
my argument: account wide ignore allows harrassers to find alts on the forums and then harrass those alts in game.
your argument: im too lazy to click ignore a second time.
I know I’m saying the ignore should block the person ignoring and the person ignored from seeing anything from eachother regardless of whatoon they are on .
I’m not saying blocking from threads , just from eachothers view.
Seems much more like “It is very important that it be as easy as possible to harass and bother people on the forum as possible, and if you are being harassed, well you just have to uproot your whole forum identity to get away from that”

it is undisputed fact that a player can find someone else’s alts on the forums via account wide ignore.
player A wants to know player B’s alts… player A places B on ignore… then player A searchs the forums to find all “hidden” posts until they see player B’s alts…
player A just found player B’s alts through account wide ignore…
you cannot dispute that this is possible.
I mean, you’ve pulled that out of your nethers and claim that it’s the truth.
Player A is ignored no matter how many alts they make, Player B does not have a need to change forum IDs so they do not need to post on other alts to get away from Player A. Nothing happens.

Player A can do the following, as i previously stated… it would be nice if you would just read through my prior posts before making incorrect statements
What he fails to realize is that Player B can block player A and… game over. No more finding all of player Bs alts… no more harassing player B.

You know that the reason why people ignore you isnt because they want to find your alts. It’s more they dont want to deal w/ you and your alts right?
