Just wait a couple more months when DST starts. Time will be even way more whacked.
I can say the same for you. Why are you still up >.>
Ok how can a person find another persons alts if their account is ignored by the other person .
They aren’t going to do it in a way that the one account is ignored by just the one toon .
We are talikng about the ignored account not being able to interact with the person ignoring them period.
technically you can. But they have to be dumb enough to post on the same thread and the person who put them on ignore would be watching the thread like a hawk refreshing every so often and looking at who’s ignored.
you ignore someone, you ignore all of their alts, then you can sift through the forums and find any hidden messages… voila, you found all their alts.
it doesn’t have to be the same thread, it can be any thread…just sift through the whole forum and find hidden posts.
so, in conclusion, account wide ignore simply allows an extra avenue to find people’s alts… people can stop third party websites from displaying their alts by checking “only show character achievements” box in-game…but they don’t have the option to hide alts with account wide ignore…
account wide ignore is not a good thing and it should never be implemented.
there really is nothing more to say about it… you cant dispute the fact that a forum user can find every alt of someone by putting one of their characters on ignore and sifting through the forums to find “hidden” messages.
i’ve already explained many times, so live with it… you can’t dispute it.
Still waiting for that blue post link.
Still waiting for that blue post link.
This
Theres also the fact that a blue said to swap alts to escape harassment.

blue post link.
No, we would not provide a name change. If you believe someone is harassing you, you’ll want to use the tools available to report them. On the forums, report their post. If a moderator agrees, they will take appropriate actions.
For the name change, it is important to understand how they work. Your name will update on any list that you are on in-game, Friends Lists, Ignore Lists, Guild Roster, etc… you don’t disappear from lists.
As for the forum, you could just as easily switch posting characters.
there ya go
So what blue is saying is just run away and keep swapping characters and harassment is prohibited and allowed because they refuse to change it to account wide ignore
That’s a failed answer from a blue if I ever seen it. People shouldn’t be scared because Discourse doesn’t want to implement account wide ignore.
It just shows the unease environment the forum has now and why people wish for account wide ignore.
They don’t want to admit this system is a failed flawed system.
That’s a failed answer from a blue if I ever seen it.
well it’s a blue post and thus conveys blizzard’s opinion on the matter, so i suggest you learn to live with it.
Says the level 58 Dracthyr alt account.
They don’t want to admit this system is a failed flawed system.
Yet they ended up doing exactly that without directly saying it.
level 58 Dracthyr alt account.
how does my posting character have any influence on the blue’s post? that doesn’t even make sense.
That’s a failed answer from a blue if I ever seen it.
Keep in mind that Vrak isn’t a dev, nor a moderator. He’s a Support Forum Agent. He’s specifically there to help out the peer to peer help desk. He will give the best information of what can be done now and also asks everyone to post suggestions here, to make sure they are heard.
The limitations of the program aren’t his fault, nor something that was intended by Blizz either. But we wanted our character posting, because we are our characters in this game.
They don’t want to admit this system is a failed flawed system.
They are looking into changing things and I suspect they’ll most likely figure out the coding to make things account wide in the background, such as likes, flags and ignores.
When this system was implemented, the coding was much different than the old forums and they found out after the new WoW forum was implemented that these systems were character specific only. Discourse isn’t a simple program. It’s going to take a lot of work to change things.
But we wanted our character posting, because we are our characters in this game.
At the same time, looking back on it, a lot of the issues that we’ve been discussing as of late should have been obviously possible from this decision.
Problem is that the assumption was since sanctions were account wide, the rest would be, as well, just like the old forum. At first, none of these issues popped up, so it was left alone. Now, it’s become worse, so the time needs to be spent to figure it out— but they’ll probably only do it if they feel it’s a big enough problem. Sockpuppets aren’t. But flags and likes are.
Sockpuppets aren’t. But flags and likes are.
I’d argue that these are just 2 sides of the same coin TBH.
these are just 2 sides of the same coin TBH.
they really aren’t.
Not really. Someone swapping to alts just to flag or like and that’s it isn’t quite the same as the ones who alt hop to get around things and talk to themselves.
