when i have an opinion, i am allowed to express that opinion to others in a polite manner, which is what i have been doing.
there is nothing wrong with that.
You know, it seems like with many things, if you have to keep telling people how polite and respectful you are, you probably aren’t being those things.

we can have a polite discussion if that is what you would like to do.
To be honest all he is doing here is arguing for the sake of arguing, not really worth continuing to arguing with someone who continues to have an inflated ego of “I’m right, your wrong!” and he keeps bringing up his “verifiable facts” but does not back them up and refuses to answer questions because it will probably kill his own argument against account wide ignore.
No matter how hard (even shoving it to his face) you showed him that the current ignore isn’t perfect because of a flaw that you can get around it by swapping to another posting character, he will just refute and say “nuh uh! its fine the way it is, its perfect and it doesnt need any changes”
Not really worth arguing with someone who argues for the sake of arguing.

If you claim that something is a verifiable fact, you should be able to back that up with something other than your own opinion or taking someone else out of context.

Don’t get me wrong because I like our Bovine Horde friends even playing a HM shammy alt myself but I think his next toon should be a male Tauren . Regular or HM does not matter .
I only say this because it would be fitting seeing every time he enters a thread people smell B.S.
Which the problem that Doobly’s argument faces is the fact that its based on hypotheticals and theories with no way to verify that its a fact.
if this does get implemented hypothetically speaking and you can find alts of people you have ignored there is another problem…
Who is willing spend hours and hours digging through thousands of threads, thousands of thread posts to find alts of multiple people you have on ignore when you have other means of finding alts within seconds?
Doobly doesn’t think things through, like without using other means like Check-pvp, its a huge time commitment.

ok here is a verifiable fact:
when you ignore someone, you see a hidden reply. that is a fact.
here is another fact:
if account wide ignore were implemented, then you could ignore one character… then each of that person’s characters on that account would be ignored and they would all be shown as “hidden replies.”
someone could search the forums for all the hidden replies and identify your alts.
that cannot be refuted, sorry.
i think the best option is for everyone to be polite to each other.
Actually it can because if it worked like anywhere else it would be like you didn’t even exist so there wouldn’t even be a notification you posted or whatever because no one would care to see it, it’s how it works on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, even in game in WoW so the forums here would be the same way.

it is completely irrelevant how ignores/blocks work on facebook… this is not facebook and blizzard is not owned by Mark Zuckerberg.
this is the wow forums and they are owned by blizzard. The hidden reply mechanic is how blizzard chooses to implement their ignores, so there is no reason why we should assume they would change it for any reason.
So overhaul it so like anywhere else I can block you and act like you don’t exist since you mean nothing to me and I’d like to only have to ignore you once and never have to deal with you again, problem solved.

has blizzard personally communicated to you that they are going to remove the hidden message mechanic for the ignore feature on the forums?
I don’t need them to communicate with me about it, requesting it be overhauled to do exactly that is something I am allowed to want just like anyone else wanting it, deal with it.
I know you don’t want people like me to be able to ignore you and act like you don’t exist because then you can’t go alt to alt bypassing ignores but that doesn’t mean we can’t still want stuff that stops that type of harassment, trolling, etc.

well, then you have no evidence that the hidden message mechanic will ever be removed…
so we should still be safe rather than sorry and not implement account wide ignores because it can allow people to identify alts…
