sure, there’s no problem with that… if i don’t want to see your new toons discuss topics on the forums, i just need to use three clicks of my mouse (and roughly 5 seconds of my time) to ignore your new toon.
it’s really quite easy and i think the ignore system works perfectly as it currently is.

I am aware of now three threads where ignored characters are not shown as a hidden reply.
Two of the LGBTQ threads and the San’layn thread. You are welcome to test it there.
The forums are, in fact, able to ignore and not show a hidden message button.
What else would they do? Hobbies. Come now. 
How dreadful it would be if they played the game instead?
i did test it there on five different people, in all threads you mentioned… and on those five people, i always saw the “view 1 hidden message” for all of their posts after i ignored them.
also, i just went through this thread and confirmed that i can see 238 “view 1 hidden reply” and that is exactly how many posts my recent ignore has.
so, on that note, I will bid you farewell as i have proven my verified facts multiple times.

There’s definitely parts of the forum where they have the option enabled to not see “view 1 hidden reply” for someone you’ve ignored, because I’ve also seen it first hand.
At this point there is nothing of value to gain of arguing with Doobly.
I have given him a question for him to answer and he refused to answer it, my question was this 
If account wide ignore is implemented here hypothetically, why would I care about your alts?

Yeah, sorry, but they are not. Nobody in the entire history of this forum has gone to the extent of doing such things you’re claiming will happen. Just because someone “can view hidden replies” when having a person on ignore, doesn’t mean anything either.

only search ‘hidden reply’ so you get them all. if you put the number in there it only finds the results with that number, based on what I saw when I tried it.
How anyone can call our current ignore system, “perfectly fine” is beyond me. The fact that it can be bypassed easily along with the “hidden reply” shows the system is pretty bad.
Also, why is there a way for me to even have the option to see ignored people’s messages? Like, there being ignored for a reason Blizzard…
I would make a sarcastic comment but I’m pretty sure a certain Drakthyr would twist what I say and go “See there fact”

What gets me, about the hidden reply, is he thinks it works. The whole ignore system is broken. If I don’t wanna see your post, I DONT wanna see you post or any reply to me, from ANY of your accounts.
Still hasn’t shown any proof of people actually tracking down alts via hidden replies. The method he constantly shows, doesn’t work. I tried it. I can track down alts via battle pets and pvp stats, easily, his theory is garbage.
ALSO… Classic characters can’t be tracked because they don’t have an armory profile.

Yeah… and especially on that server. I think that server came out around the time Scarlet Crusade launched.
I think what gets me is how blatantly they’re just being a total colossal issue over something that is obviously untrue.
Account wide Ignores will not cause harassment. Folk trying to use the system for that would have to spend an exorbitant amount of time assuming that the account wide ignore doesn’t include just hiding the posts removing the ‘view hidden reply’.
If it does remove the ‘view hidden reply’ then they’re just flat wrong.
