That is all. Just not a big fan of them there. This is a glyph for warlocks having their soul shards on their character, not a required visual element.
I think the whole concept of hero talents from the start was to make sure they were pretty visually distinctive from one another… but…. yeah. I agree with you.
The spheres look really cheap and static to me. They’re pretty looking I guess, but they are so stiff and weirdly high up floating above your head. Would have been nice if the spheres moved around a bit more. Even the Legion Fire Mage artifact weapon has orbs that actually had movement to them (and you could turn them off). That was back in 2016. Not sure why this is a problem in 2025.
Totally agree, in combat the visuals are awesome. Outside of combat its a bit obnoxious. If you ever zoom in all the way for a screenshot - they are in your face and you have to respect or right click the buff and speedrun to get a screenshot.
If arcane goes sunfury again I might quit haha. I’m on a razor thin edge of not having enough enjoyment in this game to continue playing and having to see those spheres floating above my head will “force” me to go frostfire fire mage, or more likely quit
Maybe if they were smaller and moved around? They just look so static.
The spheres ruin my desire to play fire. I don’t want to do frost fire either.
What if the Spheres only show up in combat? Like how frost mage icicles work.
I agree that when i am not in combat and just standing around the spheres are annoying.
But if they where temporary and only show up in combat it would be fine for me.
There’s a similar problem with Priest’s Oracle hero spec. You have these glowing yellow eyes with a sigil floating off your forehead. If it was only in combat, I’d be perfectly happy with it. But these effects ruin out of combat mogs and your character’s look.
The real benefit of the spheres is the passive spell power buff they grant, not the phoenix consuming them to cast greater spells. So making them temporary would defeat the entire purpose.
People have been asking for an option to hide them since the TWW Beta and Blizzard have never even acknowledged that as a valid concern. The only thing they did in that regard was repeatedly nerf Sunfury which had the side effect of getting rid of the spheres by making players switch to a different hero talent, lol.
I took his suggestion as they’d only show up cosmetically in combat rather than the buff being completely off until combat. Maybe I misinterpreted though. I don’t see why we can’t talk to a Mage trainer and turn this off or on cosmetically.
