I recognize that there’s no real point. I also realize they put in a mob to fulfill that one achievement, and I also realize you can level sync with someone who still has it to get it back.
But I found the Eye mechanic pretty nifty and the Maw just ain’t the same without it. One day I might want to go back and challenge myself with the Tier 5 debuff. Before Shadowlands wraps up, can we get some kind of item or toggle to turn the Eye back on? Thanks Blizzard.

As the expansion winds down, I was scrolling through achievements to see if there were any I wanted to knock out before DF and there was one that requires doing something while the eye is active, so having a way to turn it back on might be nice for people looking to complete achievements.

Nah I loved original Maw. It was the only remotely difficult outdoor zone they’ve had in a decade, if you killed someone it meant they had to walk back, and saving your friends from Forsworn abductions was legit fun.
Before they allowed mounts and got rid of the Eye and eventually we all outgeared it, it was my favorite zone hands down.
And Rift runs! Remember those! Oh man. I hope we see something that cool again.

If you mean Who Sent You, you can get credit from the Mawsworn Blackguard.

I guess I’m the second one. The only thing I didn’t like was how it kept me from helping friends, but otherwise I thought it made the zone exciting and appropriately dangerous. This was especially so early on when we didn’t have the gear to just decimate everything.

There is no challenge. You have until 10 stacks and then you die.
Also, canonically after you access Korthia, which is when the eye goes away, the eye is injured and in the sanctum, so it would make zero sense.
what do you want to bring back
LOL no you don’t. You’re perfectly capable of running around with 10 stacks and doing stuff. You can’t be healed anymore, but that’s not really a big deal with how easy the Maw is (and was).
The biggest challenge in the Maw was how uninformed so many players were about how it works.
Back in 9.0, we would kill every Maw rare and do every quest, every day. You had to budget your jailer hate a bit (since you couldn’t get Stygia from kills at max hate, but could from quests), but it was perfectly doable and made what was otherwise a very easy zone into something interesting.
And then I’d read on the forums from people saying “it FORCES you out before you can finish the quests!” and that’s when I realized that some people are just playing a completely different game than I am.
I liked it as well OP. Was essentially a neat ‘weather’ effect imo. RPG wise, it set the mood for the Jailer a bit as well.

The Maw, along with Revendreth, were the best zones in the game, this xpac.
People complained that the Maw was bleak and depressing. That’s the whole point, it’s the prison of the damned. Come on, people…

It’s why we can’t have nice things. Folks beg for RPG features to be brought back/added into the game but actively hate anything RPG.
The druid/worgen hate in the Maw was pretty delightful though.

The grappling hooks everywhere made getting around in the Maw really quick and easy.
Was very surprised at how many people didn’t know about them.
Especially since we’ve had the mechanic since Legion now. MoP if you wanna count the ropes along the great wall.
Idk, you can kind of see why Blizzard just doesn’t even try anymore. Folks can’t even handle the skies having a lick of danger.
Someone never let it hit the 100% healing debuff and it shows.
You start taking 3% health in damage every tick after it hits 100% healing lost.
And since you can’t heal, you indeed do have a ~3 minute time limit before you outright die.
