People like hitting the sprint button to get somewhere slightly faster, but this could dig into CD movement abilities. So I think naturally our characters should run at 70% current speed and go up to 100% while holding the sprint button.
I kind of hate sprint buttons. In my head it’s just like “oh great, now I have to press 2 buttons to go forward instead of just one.” and if the stamina depletes while out of combat it’s annoying!
Also sprinting can be bad for PvP. It’s better for movement to be tied to unique abilities. Otherwise people just infinitely chase each other around the entire battlefield. (like in every fromsoft game)
Roll a rogue, they have a sprint button
Dont you have feathers?
RIP Burst of Speed rogues
Rogue, druid, monk, DH, warrior, mage, even DKs have a movement ability.
What did Warlock, Shaman, Hunter, Evoker, and Paladin do to you?
It’s called Darkflight
Most classes do have faster movement speed abilities.
I miss the downvote button.
Every class should have something, though they are all not equal. But they have something.
Please don’t try to have any more ideas.
flashbacks of pinky cramps from sprinting in minecraft.
nah im good
Only if capslock on is the only way to be perma sprinting
We’re actually always sprinting. There’s a button to toggle walk mode.
We have one as feral druids too. I think what OP is talking about is like holding down a certain key(button) to make a character run even faster up until a certain resource limit, similar to the one in Elder Scrolls Online. Nice idea.

A dodge roll button(key) would be awesome for avoiding bad stuff on the ground or projectiles being tossed around from monsters and bosses, similar to what Guild Wars 2 has.
But I have so much stamina on my gear that it could probably reanimate me if I died of old age! Why should I limit myself to running at 70%?!?

so sprinting is the yelling of the mobility world huh? Deep, bro
Hey op, thoughts on being encumbered? I have issues with hoarding…
I think being encumbered would be funny if it worked like Death Stranding and if you fall down you drop your mats and consumables like Sonic.
